He is a tough marker; however, it is worth it in the end because you learn SO much. When I took COMM 110 with him I would get my papers back with red ALL over them. By the end of COMM 220 he would hardly make any alterations to my work. He is definitely worth it if you take writing seriously. {and he is a really nice guy}

Fred knows who he likes and knows who he doesnt. If you've taken his intro classes, perhaps he will talk to you and allow you to question him. Otherwise, be prepared to follow his explicet directions and be graded inadequately. I love the textboooks from this class.

I took Comm 270 with him, last fall and I am taking Comm 413 this semester. Comm 270 was an introduction to Journalism and he knew this topic quite well since he went to the Journalism school. Fred is nice and all; very anal about some things, particularly Canadian spelling?! Lighten up, dude. Lots of work involved, don't joke around with the guy or he thinks you're not taking him and the class seriously. Otherwise, he's professional and knows his stuff.
