Dr. Rey is a great professor. He will point out all the information you need to know for tests on PowerPoints. However, he does not post these PowerPoints, so if you want to do well on the tests, you need to go to class. His class is very fun, interesting, and he likes to get the students involved. You will not regret taking it.

If you don't go to class you won't pass. He doesn't put any PowerPoints online. When he lectures though, he's super interesting and the classtime flies by. He's super interested in what he teaches making it easier to learn!

He was an awesome professor. None of his notes are on BB so you have to attend class. There are a few tests and those are the only grades. Tests can be tough so you have to study. Over all though, it was nice going into class with him.

Took class for non-music majors. Impo, Dr. Ray is the best professor at ECU. Very knowledgeable, interesting lectures. The time goes by fast. While he doesn't take attendance, you pretty much have to attend class. Can't imagine why anyone wouldn't get an A if they wanted. Great class!

Dr. Rey is so cool! And has probably the deepest voice I've ever heard in my life. His power points are not online so you have to be in class to get the notes but I've never found it difficult going to his classes. I definitely recommend him as a professor.

Dr. Rey is the best professor I have had at ECU! His lectures are so interesting and enjoyable. He makes class very easy because all of the test questions are off of the powerpoint lectures. Attendance is not taken but you will not do well on tests if you don't go. I would definitely take this class again! He is awesome and hilarious!!

Literally the worst teacher I've ever had. Mario is a cool guy, but a terrible teacher. I took a non-major course and he gave no study guide. On top of that, he would just tell us the test will be on these 300 pages in the book.

He makes the class interesting and fun with his stories, and the class goes by fast. BUT he makes the tests so hard! I took the non-music major section of this class for an fine arts credit and I had to work just as hard on studying in that class as my calc class. This class is not a GPA booster.

nice guy but doesn't prepare you at all for the tests which are the only grades and are extremely detailed. most of the material on the test he doesn't go over in class. doesn't put power points online either.

Do not take this class!! The only grades are the tests. The tests are extremely detailed, so if you do not write down every word he says, you will not do well on the tests. He is a nice guy, but the class is hard. do NOT take this class for an easy A, you'll regret it.

Very nice man. Tests are extremely hard even when studying for hours. Took this class for an easy "A" to get my fine arts credit and ended up with a "D." I would recommend a different class especially if you aren't too interested in music of the world. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you want to have any idea of what is going on then go!

I went to class everyday, took good notes and studied my butt off..and got the first C in my life. I'm not a music major which doesnt help. my whole class pretty much failed the final after being given 15 extra credit points for attending a concert.

The grade in this class happened to be my first D in my ENTIRE college career - and given the hell I went through on the exams, I'm sorry to say that I was grateful to even get the D...because it would determine whether or not I would graduate. Nice man, but the exams in the class (the only grades herein) were ridiculously hard.

Dr. Rey is definitely harder than what I thought I was getting into. I took this clas to get an 'easy A' for humanities/fine arts and ended wtih a C... attendance is not mandatory but no notes are on blackboard so basically it is... very funny guy but if you can get another teacher for fine arts, do it for a better grade!
