Dr. Baker is clearly passionate about his work, and wants you to be too. His jokes make the lectures better, although it's important to pay attention cause his lectures are pretty content-heavy. During class he also tells you some questions that will be on the final, so make sure to star them.

Baker was a great prof! He had a good sense of humor and almost never kept us for the full 50 mins of class, we would often be dismissed 25-5mins early, which was awesome! He had amazing notes that were very clear and easy to read. Loved his teaching, he literally just read over every slide in the lectures!

Prof meant well but hated his style of teaching. All lecture slides are posted on courselink from the start of the semester and I found that I took way better notes at home rather than attending the lectures

Baker is a great person, however his lecture slides are difficult to study off of. In lecture, he does his best to keep you engaged and to be clear. However, it is very hard to actually learn from the lectures because the notes hardly have anything.

His notes are really clear and thorough (if you're taking CHEM 1050, choose him if you can). He makes class enjoyable and gets through the dry boring material as fast as possible while still making sure everything is understood!

Very clear prof, classroom notes are posted online in advance (very helpful). No need to write notes because everything is done for you. Just listen to the hints he gives in class for the questions that appeared in previous exams.

Prof. Baker is awesome. I switched to his lectures after I couldn't understand a word of Lori Jones. He is so helpful outside of class and even though sometimes his lectures are a bit boring, he really tries to tell you what's important. Best chem prof yet.

I thought he was pretty good, he gave A LOT of hints for the midterm and was repetative... which, you may find redundant, but it really drove the info in your head. I would gladly have him again. and the fact i got 47 on Chem 1040 midterm and 76 chem 1050 midterm really tells u hes a good prof

Best prof ever. Don't use CHEM*1050 as a basis to judge him by. (First year courses are a headache for many profs) Amazingly helpful and cheerful. Just shush in class and he won't seem so ornery!

Was rather unorganized when I took the class, but has apparently improved since. Prone to making frequent mistakes/corrections in his notes. Has a perpetual, never-ending cold, but is friendly enough and quite helpful after class.

I was in Lori Jones' lecture but switched to Baker's because I couldn't learn in her class. Baker is incredibly clear, has really thorough notes posted online and goes through them diligently every lecture. Worth listening to: he strongly emphasizes all the REALLY IMPORTANT stuff, so it's hard to miss a beat for what you need for the exam.

Dr Baker has made the S&B dryness not so dry. From his entropy dances to chucking dry ice at everyone, his manner of teaching is awesome. Highly entertaining~! And very straightforward evaluations as well. If you had him in CHEM*1050, it is NO indicator of how he teaches other courses. Much <3 for Dr. Baker!
