Nice man, with great ideas. Although it may appear that he teaches from the book in history, he often goes on tangents and elaborates. His love for music history shows through this. Piano, yes it is true that if you are female that he will go easier on you, but if you have any problems, he will help you by any means necessary. BTW, he sounds like elmer fudd when he laughs!

Dr. Schmid has a great personality. (You often hear this saying when you're trying to go around the truth). The fact is that he sometimes has a hard time relating information to the students. His quizes can be extremely hard, make sure you read!!

Dr. Schnid is one of my favorite teachers. Yes I have complained about his class before, but I still feel that he is a great guy and teacher. Also a very intersting conversationalist, he knows his stuff.

Overall, Schmid is a great guy. I sometimes have trouble figuring out what I need to know on the tests from his lecutres, and a few of his "pop" quizzes were a bit unfair. He's willing to help out any student who is willing to seek his help.

We survived my entire MU time by trying to figure out if the man wore underwear (yes btw.. boxers so says his wife.) Anywho, hardest damn tests you will ever take (listening quizzes) and probably the worst jokes you will ever hear, but he's a good guy...

I didn't learn a darn thing from his class. I'm glad i transferred and got to take the course again. I learned music history in a totally new way and now i love it! it's amazing what a difference a professor can make!

Part of the NEW FACULTY that has to be hush-hush about how/what everyone feels/thinks of the old faculty. Schmid is a fauvist among conventional methods and is against 'the old music school'. We don't ever want to lose him. He has tremendous ability!
