Comment:

Mandatory course for Human Rights Students. Be prepared to do weekly assignments and readings with a group. Assignments weren't too difficult, but make sure you read them thoroughly. Wouldn't really recommend this course for non-majors.

Comment:

Very passionate and knowledgeable about what he does. Lots of freedom for open discussion during the tutorial. Not your average professor. Absolutely great guy. I like that he also takes transit to get to school. He can relate with his students.

Comment:

It's hard to get lower than a B in this course. I took it in the S1 term & it was INTENSE. multiple asgmts every week. 6 group presentations within 7 weeks. I would not take it if it was not mandatory. Goodman however, is awesome. He cares about the work that he does and about the students that he teaches. Work relatively hard & attend class!

Mark is a pretty nice guy who's fairly easy-going. Regarding the class, it was a half-year course with TONS of material. BUT, if you WEREN'T presenting you didn't have to do the readings cause he spoke most of the time during and after presentations. His assignments are straightforward and you watch a lot of films. He's also approachable.

This was the worse class I have ever taken! He is unclear during lecture and goes off on strange tangents that don't make sense, is useless during tutorial, and doesn't even mark the tests from his own tutorial! PLUS, he lost a couple of tests but won't admit to it! All the movies that we watched were useless, and weren't even used in the tests.

Professor Goodman loves showing films in class.He is a very fair marker. He falls asleep during presentations though (hilarious).His tests are two-parters (in-class/take-home). In-class is very simple multiple-choice. Take-home is basically a comparison between the films shown in class and the novels that you are required to read. Great experience!

Just go to class, do the review and u'll be fine. He's very easy and approachable. I dont normally talk to profs but he was pretty nice. Cleared up any misunderstanding for assignments. Just got to go to class bc he has a attendance sheet. But that's like free marks for just going to a class you pay for. I didnt buy any books, wiki everything.
