Comment:

Mark is phenomenal. Hes pretty much the poster child of Centre, which is cool in itself, and hes an awesome professor. Ive had him for both of my humanities courses and American lit. Lectures are very helpful as long as you stay on top of the reading, and a lot of class participation is utilized. 10/10 would recommend taking at least once!

Man is iconic. Pretty interesting for humanities. Tests and papers are pretty hard, but just take a unique perspective on your essays and he will grade you well. Pretty much no work outside of that.

The epitome of southern charm. Plus, he's easy on the eyes. Super nice guy and an awesome professor. Lectures are interesting and beneficial, but he's a tough grader. His tests are super hard, but totally worth it! Would definitely take a class with him again.

Not necessarily a challenging course, but pretty difficult grader; two papers for the entire semester and the feedback was mediocre. He cares a lot about participate, but lets students turn index cards with their thoughts so the quieter ones still can get class participation points.

Im a science person and this class was great. It was mostly lectures. the reading list looks intimidating but he doesn't require that much reading in each text. only wrote 2 papers and a midterm and final that he gave us a practice copy of. Just come to class prepared and talk sometimes and you'll be fine.

Mark Lucas is one of the most extraordinary professors--ever. His lectures are amazing and he's pretty helpful if you see him during office hours. Tests are really difficult, but you learn so much in his classes. Such a cool human being. Absolute must to take at least one of his classes before you graduate!!!

Professor Lucas' class is the most extraordinary I have ever had the pleasure of taking. His lectures are incredible, and he is one of those people you meet in your life that are just unforgettable. I highly recommend taking any class that he offers.

Dr. Lucas is an amazing teacher who really ares about his subject. Not much work outside of class -- he assigns a reasonable amount of reading, and there are only two papers. My biggest piece of advice for him would be to STUDY HARD for his tests, and pay attention to quotes he likes in class - they will be tested! Would definitely take again!
