Lectures and lab sessions are very dragged out and boring. I feel like I'm never really fully learning the course material. Everyone in the class constantly looks confused when he speaks. I was also told to buy the textbook and it has never been opened.

He is extremely boring and it is very difficult to pay attention in his class, He will have powerpoints in a lecture room where the font of the letters is so small its near impossible to read. His study guides barely relate to what he puts on his tests. Only positive is hell sometimes find ways to give extra points

I took PHS111 online. The benefit of this was open book tests... you can look at the lecture notes while taking the tests. Some questions require basic algebra and common assignments involve drawing in isobars, warm or cold fronts on weather maps. Prof. is a fair grader - gives partial credit and extra credit. Learned a lot from this course.

Professor McConnaughhy is a very nice professor but sadly his teaching style is not effective. He does not explain stuff clearly and when you ask him for help he kind of laughs like we should understand it. He does not assign a text book which doesn't help with understanding. His tests are horrible and count for so much of your grade.

He is the worst! His tests cover things he doesn't go over in class and his class is boring. Anytime I managed to stay awake, I couldn't even focus. His voice is grating and he is overall rude and condescending. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! IT IS NOT AN EASY GRADE!!

I took his weather class in fall 2011. Good god this guy was boring. I think I spent more time on my iPhone playing games than listening to him. Luckily I was always fascinated with weather so I knew a bit about the subject beforehand and got a B-,however, I can tell the people uninterested in weather were hating the class.

most boring teacher on the face of the earth. its pretty funny when i think about it. i mean hes not a bad person or anything i just cannot figure out what world he is living in. he doesnt interact with students at ALL and you can try to talk to him all you want but its like talking to a wall. attendance sheet makes it easy to skip class tho!

comes off as a little weird, but he's highly intelligent, you can def learn a LOT from his class. i'm a weather major and found myself bored at some points...but for the most part, he was interesting but a tough grader...don't expect anyyy sympathy....

Only the greatest teacher ever to teach at dutchess. Believe me just ask Shanta and she will confirm. This was the greatest class ever between learning about oil and how gravity works with a projector. One time he lost his eraser because he put it on top the of the whiteboard. I highly recommend this teacher you will not be disappointed. Easy class

Mark aka the man. His class was the best class i have ever taken. His work load is extremely reasonable, actually i dont remember even doing home work. He gave us through study guides with only 2 tests. I liked him a lot. hes so cool too, really smart. Basically a cool dude.

I found him to be quirky and funny. Enjoyed the subject and found it interesting. I didn't think the lectures were boring at all! Presented information clearly and labs backed up the lectures. Tests were easy if you studied the study sheet he gave you, and overall I had a great experience and thought he was a great teacher.
