Professor Moreeale is a really nice man and is always available outside of class. Hes also pretty quick with emailing back. Although he doesnt explain assignments enough and just expects you to know what he mean. A lot of reading that it should be considers a literature class. There is also no direction in the class and no notes to follow along.

Prof. Morreale's class was very interesting and difficult. This is one of those class where you get what you put in. Invest your time and energy and you will be fine. ALWAYS ask him questions when you do not understand--failure to comply with his marking criteria will result in astonishing failure. Other than that, I would take him again and again.

You have to read a LOT. You read stories over the weekend, discuss them on Monday, do a micro theme Wednesday, and a test the next Monday both essays. There is 1 macro theme which is due a 2 months after the start of the semester which is 10 pages. He likes APA style. Lessons are not life-changing but eye-opening and informative.

Prof. Morreale was a really nice guy but graded way too hard. Had him for a writing class and he would always love my ideas and my writing but bumped me down an entire letter grade for comma splices. EVERY TIME! Even after I went to him to try and fix the issue. He is also not great at explaining things, so prepare to be very confused in his class.

You dont HAVE to read the books that are assigned, but it definetly helps. Overall, the class was boring. As long as you show up, youll do fine.

I feel that Professor Morreale is pretty average. He is a huge scatter-brain and speaks pretty fast. Assigns a lot of work so make sure to get it done asap so you can keep up with all of it. He is always available outside of class and is pretty quick to email back. Overall, like I said, average. If you do the work and make effort, you'll do okay.

This professor is really nice and is always willing to help you. He is a hard grader and it is rare to get higher than a B on your papers. There is a lot of writing and a lot of papers to write, but he makes the class enjoyable. There are no tests just papers and my final and midterm was an oral exam just talking one on one with my professor.

He's an interesting guy. He grades hard but he's also quite flexible and able to meet with you and sometimes give you a second chance. His directions on assignments and the syllabus were lacking, in terms of useful information. He's a nice guy, but, he makes it hard to do well in the class because he doesn't allow his students to grasp the subject.

Professor Morreale is caring, but a tough grader. If you take him for FYS, get ready to write 4 papers and give 2 presentations. He grades the papers pretty tough, but if you put in the effort, he'll give you a good grade. Wouldn't take him again because of how stressful his class was, but I do think I improved on my writing.

Mark Morreale requires students to show up to class, write extensive pieces on pointless excerpts from his textbook and then DOES NOT GRADE THEM! If I'm going to put in effort for his class, I expect to receive the grade that I am working for.

Lots of reading (6 books), then 8 essays and a research paper make this the first year seminar with the heaviest workload. However, as a professor, he is great. He goes over all the books in class to help you understand them and meets with students individually a few times in the semester. No mid-term or final.

Comment:
Extremely difficult professor in that he lacks clarity in his instructions and and assignments. When students ask questions for clarity, he becomes easily agitated. I'm English major, and have always loved the subject, but he made me question my decision to major in English. I believe his intentions are good, but he misses the mark for this course.

Morreale was very helpful, and understanding. At the beginning of the course it is a bit confusing however you will begin to understand what he expects of you. There is allot of work, but you will feel better off for having done it and your skills will advance. I was writing at a C+ level at start of the year was writing at an A- to A level by end.

Mr. Morreale is an incredibly understanding teacher. I went through a medical issue during the semester that I took his Writing as a Discipline course, and he was extremely understanding, and let me hand in everything on my own time without penalties. Good teacher, passionate about what he does, easy grader

Incredibly scattered and unclear. His class is unbearable and he grades ridiculously hard for no reason. He gives a lot of work and then doesn't grade half of it. He thinks that the class is all writing concentrations but it's a requirement for all English majors.

Very nice guy but expects alot of understanding of literature. Both assignments and tests are essays, very unclear with due dates. Classes are boring, just reviewing books. I don't recommend him.
