Worst professor ever! He has no regard for students that struggle whether be in class or out. He is very condensant when he marks your assignments. He doesnt reply emails, as a fourth year student Ive dealt with a lot of professors particularly in the politics department and he is the worst out of them all. Avoid him if you can.

At first glance it appears you'll be reading trashy novels and watching movies - but this class is subtle. If you like to think critically, take this class. Read and be prepared to participate.

Take a Neufeld course if you wish to feel inspired. Many people on this site do not understand his position at what he was trying to accomplish. He makes you think outside of the box, which is a refreshing change in a liberal arts course and the way it should be. Neufeld is the man.

Best professor ever! some prior comments labeled him as a Michael Moore or a Ralph Nader? Clearly some people failed to show up for his classes - I would pin Neufeld more as a Proudhon, Bakunin or Chomsky.

He blew my mind by creating a fourth year course on globalization that was based on Freire's pedagagy of the oppressed. He assigned some books and made us see a few movies, and the lectures were just student-led discussions. Tjat class was the most interesting I've EVER takn in my 4 years at Trent.

Engaging. Made concepts easy to grasp. Fun. Creative. Very left wing. I loved the course. It's true, he's jaded, but with good reason.

He was an inspiring professor, and did not draw all the connections for you and give you the analysis. He wanted you to make it yourself. He was cynical and yet hopeful. He was charismatic, not just an old boring prof. He spoke his mind. I'm missing him during the 2nd term.

Neufeld is intelligent but appears to have become very jated in life. No effort, no zest, no interest. He is horrible at leading tutorials. Bottom line - alot to offer, but burnt out. Maybe his semes off will revitaliz him?

Doesn't really give any arguments - simply makes cliche jokes, people laugh - write the paper with the opinions he wants people to write and they get a good grade. He's a waste of time.

His lectures lack depth or any sort of analysis. He'll keep you entertained for a while, but then you realize he's just wasting your time. Makes the course really easy, though.

I didn't get a tutorial. Instead, we were to write questions to Web-CT. Tutorials were put back, but not until the next year. By that time I changed my major to History. Said it was the university's problem, but other first year courses (like History) had tutorials.
