I highly recommend this teacher, if you didn't find humanities interesting after taking her for a semester you will. She is an extremely funny and entertaining teacher, but be warned her class is not for the faint of heart. The tests are pretty easy and participation is a must

She thinks that because she was a hippie, she knows more than everybody. She tries to make everybody feel intolerant, as if she is the only tolerant person on earth. She's terrible.

Horrible Teacher! Thinks she is better than everyone 'cause she has numerous PhDs, which she mentions over and over. Reminds me of a miserable old lady who hasn't had a date in decades (she's actually said that she hasn't been on a date since 1965...no joke). Doesn't do anything but show movies and talk about how correct she is with every subject.

80% of her course: racism is bad and the holocaust was bad. That's all we talked about for most of the course - apparently that's all there is to 20th Century Humanities. Nothing happened in the world after the 30's except racism and anti-semitism. Oh yeah, and she definately picks favorites. Her writing assignment is subjective and unclear.

Interesting class, she loves arguments and controversy. Tests are easy all you have to do is read, but she only goes over the reading at the beginning of the semester. if you take her dont be late! she hates that, but she almost always let us out early

Biggest cop-out of a teacher ever! All we did was watch movies everyday! Only had two or three days of actual class. Left at least 15 min early everyday and she canceled class for an entire week for an extra vacation. Gave a T or F test were all 50 questions were True! Everybody loves her because it's the easiest A ever but you will learn zippo

Wonderful professor! She is a very good speaker and extremely knowledgeable. I enjoyed her religion class so much I am going to take her 20th century class next semester. One tip Just do not be late to her class.

this lady focuses on the holocaust and racism.that's it. you won't learn anything else. she did tell us what was gonna be in the tests, but she only talked about aprox. 10% of what she wanted us to study in class. the rest was up to you. and she has the nuts to say that your first source should be the lecture, not the book. she has favorites btw

Dr. Spencer is an absolutely wonderful teacher. Her controversial methods make the information easy to retain and her crazy stories make time fly. The study guides are time consuming but they force you to learn the material, they are helpful. I would recommend this class and hope to have her again.
