Lovelace is very clear about assignments, which is all we were graded on. He gave marks for effort and for understanding of the material rather than doing everything by the book. Very funny too.

An incredibly gifted professor - interesting,knows and loves the material well, down to earth and approachable, interesting assignments, a good marker (I don't mean 'easy'). If itit. had been possible to take 3 courses a semester from Prof Lovelace? Sooo would have done that - and would have loved

Highy Recommended. He is a nice man, cares about his students, helps with problems, decent assignments and would you belive a good final?! I loved this course, it was my favourite and he is a really nice prof. Ask questions and make suggetsions/tell stories. He really loves folklore and knows what he is talking about :D TAKE THE COURSE WITH HIM

Outstanding professor. Made me decide to go on to Graduate studies in Folklore. He's got a great sense of wit and is very knowledgeable about his field.
