Comment:

Dispiste the other reviews, Marry knows an awful lot about business strategy and MIS use within business today. She is an extremely hard, but fair marker. If you put in the effort an A is very possible, and you will leave her class with a better understanding of the material as well as a better public speaker and writer.

Worst prof I've ever had. She is an instructor that doesn't understand the course in which she is suppose to teach. She can't teach the lab portion because she doesn't understand MIS systems on computers. I would change faculties over taking any course with her again. The course is MIS not JDC West!

Mary is quite the character, you can easily do well if you come to class and participate. she is one of those professor's who is very involved in Asper so it's good for her to get to know you! Material is quite dull but she "tries" to add in humor. Overall decent proff, I mean she gives you all the slides and there are no surprises on the exams.

One of the worst profs at Asper, try and avoid at all costs. She talks non-stop about JDC west and does nothing to spark interest in the subject she is paid to teach. She is an MIS prof that is clueless to the MIS that are used in current business practices.

Just awful, she made a awful subject worse. I learned more about JDC west than anything. She thinks shes the funniest prof, but shes not. The exam is completely opposite of what we learned in class. If you can avoid taking the class with her DO, the worst prof in Asper by far.

Great Professor,very clear in her explanations on different topics we covered. Was rather apprehensive before the class because of the ratings on this site,but she turned out to be a really good Prof.

Nice lady, horrible prof. I learned more about JDC West than MIS. She doesn't comprehend the material and makes the course unnecessarily difficult to get a good grade. She also wrote the textbook which costs a pretty penny and insists it's mandatory- it isn't! Good luck...

As a professor she is horrible. She doesn't understand the material in which she is trying to teach. She often references MIS systems that she used to work with in paper form. The material is too difficult for this prof to understand, never mind teach. Its a computer class yet this prof is very limited in computer knowledge.

This prof turned out better than I thought, but by no means is she the best prof. The material covered will be extremely boring to some. The labs and assignments will use Microsoft access and excel, so if you've never used these programs or are not technologically inclined you will have difficulty. Don't buy the text book slidescover all material

The problem with sites like this is that people confuse "having to work hard because it's university" with "prof was mean and course sucked". Though I did find the material somewhat dry, I thought that the course was doable and if you actually worked at assignments and showed up to class, Professor Brabston was nice and helpful too.

Attend every class and ask questions, if no questions come to mind just tell a story and try relating it to the material. The participation marks are crucial as they are the easiest to obtain. She will give you the choice of group members so choose wisely. Just memorize the glossary, seriously, its a lot, but thats all you need for the exams.

The lectures are drier than 5 month old beef jerky, and the assignments are the biggest **** ever. The exams are not THAT difficult. Word of advice: don't memorize your way through this course. Get a general understanding of the material and look for logical connections and then apply what you know to the exams. She's actually really nice!!!

This is the worst prof and the worst class that you will ever experience. She is the author of the text. The course content is useless, difficult, and boring. Don't go to ANY of the classes, it is a complete waste of time, all she does is brag about herself and her family, especially her father. Read the book and use the online learning centre.
