The easiest class ever but i took it at night so maybe she was too tired to preach and man hate, i didn't notice it. She gives everyone four free points on every test. People got c's but i don't know how it is such an easy A, and yes the beard.....sooooo HOT

Great teacher, great person! If you like philosophy, I highly recommend Dr. Cane, if you are taking this class for the credits you will hate it. There are four exams (all writing, dont worry about grammar) and she lets you hand in additional assignments for EC. The class is very easy if you read, read and read.

Excellent Professor. If you attend class, keep up w/the reading (which is a reasonable amount)-you will do well. She will take whatever time necessary to answer your questions. She thoroughly goes over points. When students ask questions, she takes the time to think and answers respectfully. (Get over the clothes and fu-man-chu-it'll take 1 class!)

She can be easily misread but she's a true philosopher. I took several classes in order to do some leveling work, and Dr. Crane helped to develop my philosophical sensibilities. Discussion of her appearance is beside the point. In fact, her personal aesthetics or style helped me to be even more open. She expects respect but is extremely helpful.

I went to this before I took the class and was a little surprised that no one mentioned she had a beard. Now someone has, but I was a little startled when I walked in on the first day. So warning to everyone else, she has a beard. I dropped before I got my first test back so I don't know how well I did, but she gives the answers to the tests.

I got her as a sub for Shamney. The class was cool when Prof. Shamney was teaching it. It went to hell when Crane started teaching it. She seemed to get a bit aggravated when students asked her questions, she graded really hard, and she was unclear on the material she was teaching.

O.K so Dr. Crane has a beard which is wierd and she wears conductors over-alls which is also weird, but I really liked this class. I found it very informative. not sure about the man hating thing, but I liked her and her class. She is excentric though.

I hardly learned anything. Her lectures and notes were disorganized and non-cohesive. While she's sweet and interesting as a person, the topics really had to speak for themselves as participation and in-class intrigue were limited. Hard to stay awake.

Awful. She's a sweet lady(although pretty cynical), but her class was boring, confusing, and extremely difficult. I'm a great student, and I got a C in her class. Not a fair grader. Her lectures are so hard to follow and not fun at all. Totally turned me off to philosophy for quite a while.

Very clear, notes are easy to follow, reviews EVERTHING you need to know before the test (she stands there with a test in her hand and starts review). Readings are easy. Extremely easygoing funny. She wants the essays to be long, so make sure you organize it a bit before test, but still manageable.

philosophy 7 was a very cool class! Dr. Crane really stuck to the subject. she is sort of funny. i took philo. 1 and it was sooo boring! IF YOU LIKE DISCUSSIONS ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL LIFE TAKE PHILOSOPY 1 WITH HER. she hardly ever spoke about what the philosophers were trying to say.

got this prof as a sub for shamey, one of the worst ever! she is extremely critical/judgemental, will yell at you for being feminine/eating meat. her lectures are boring & hard to follow, she is even harder to look at. she was confused by her own tests/answer key, made errors grading, steer clear!
