Professor Gomrad is a great professor. She asks for four main papers, which are given clear directions. It is mandatory to attend class, but it can be useful as she goes over directions and provides extra buffer grades. Great professor, I highly recommend her.

You have 4 major assignments in ENC1102 with her. Assignment 3 is now due and we have had no feedback on either of them. This isn't just me but the whole class. The syllabus doesn't have much information and asking her yields little if anything. Not an easy class: take someone else.

She's a great professor. The assignments were very confusing at first, but once you get an understanding, they weren't that bad. She'll give you a few articles to read. Make sure you read them. The assignments are based off of these articles and she gets angry when you don't read them. If you need help, be sure to ask because she's there for you.

Professor Gomrad is the nicest professor I've ever had! There are no tests but 3-4 big papers for grades which aren't hard because she breaks everything down so well. Attendance is mandatory. I hate writing and English but she made it pretty enjoyable. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOKS, you will not use it once! Only professor I would choose for this course

I wouldn't recommend taking her. She doesn't give rubrics but expects you to know everything already. Its a professional writing course yet every discussion I've had with her there are multiple grammar & spelling errors. She is a very harsh grader, even if you are an amazing writer she takes points off and said she never gives a student above a 96

Easy course, not the most interesting but you do create a cover sheet and resume which is helpful. Don't really need either textbook. Very little assignments but she does grade horribly slow and takes a month+ to give grades back. Also, not very clear on why she took points off on assignments.

A few group projects and some individual assignments make up your grade. She grades fairly. Just keep up with the work and pay attention to her instructions and you will do fine. I agree with the other poster, get her on your side from the beginning. Help answer students questions e-mail her etc, and she will return the favor.

I have taken several classes with her and found them all very easy. YOU MUST MAKE HER LIKE YOU! Act interested, even if you aren't. That is one of the most important things you can do in her class, after that, just following the basic directions. She loves being asked for help, so do it! You pretty much never use any of the textbooks. Take her!

Great Professor! Great Class! The Professor is kind, responsive and helpful. I took the course online. There was no book...she provided all of the resources needed. Coursework related to our majors and future job search (resume, cover letters, etc.). The course was not too difficult and it was beneficial.

I liked professor Gomrad's class. It wasn't terribly difficult, she was sweet to me, and either I'm a damn good writer or she grades easily. I'll go with the former. Don't buy the textbook unless you know NOTHING about tech comm!

Professor Gomrad is not the easiest grader but she is fair. Course is interesting and she gives options for some assignments that are geared toward you major or interests. TSometimes instructions are hard to understand but she will explain and help when need it. She is fair and I learned alot. I enjoyed her class. She is always willing to help.

Comment:
Professor Gomrad grades with extreme bias; it is imperative that you do not get on her bad side. There is little to no correlation between the quality of work done and the grade received for it. First impressions are paramount; find a way to win her over in the first week or your grades will suffer.

I really enjoyed the class. The assignments were not dry, flat assignments. They gave students the opportunity to be creative and think outside of the box. A very enjoyable class. However, you must keep up in the class and make the deadlines.

Professor is very fair and grades with the fact that this is a technical course in mind. She provides great feedback to grades and responds to emails quickly. Course content is paced and fair. Do not take if you're not responsible enough for an online course, however! Highly recommended.

Absolutely disgusted with the grading system. She has no justification for the most part with the numerous points she takes off and on numerous occasions has said they were "typos." I agree with the other posts that once she has you set with a grade in her mind, that is what you will get no matter how hard you work.
