this was her last year so isn't going to matter but I really enjoyed her classes, however I've never worked so hard for a class in my life. listening to audio notes and then taking notes and then taking the online quiz took at least 2 hrs. However that helped me prepare for the final and I got a good grade. Also group assignments every week inclass

Life is not easy and so is MKT100 with Mary. To pass her class, u just need to do what you gotta do which is STUDY! Complaining aint gonna do anythything cuz she'still getting paid no matter what. Overall, I think I learned more in this class and kind of enjoyed it lol. She is a crusty dry teacher tho. but ur only with her for 2hrs

Her class is a stress but if you r up for a challenge, her class aint bad. Her audiofiles are dry and boring but u just gotta suck it up. As long as you review the weekly theories and metrics, and actually TAKE NOTES , U WILL BE FINE. Its all worth it cuz once its exam szn, u dont need to stress and cram ur notes. u just gotta practice metrics.

She's not as bad. Her flipped course content forces u to actually learn and during inclass activity u apply the stuff ulearn from her audio files in real scenarios and makes u think outside the box Her class is a challenge and it did help me better my time management and organization skills. Its not an easy course and those who complain r just lazy

Best professor I've had so far. If you ever need help with anything she's always there to correct you and guide you on the right path. Weekly in-class assignments were tough but worth it, and you're essentially forced to learn the material for class by writing a small diagnostic every week. Definitely learned a lot from this class and from her!

Her style of teaching helped me for the final and midterm, it was the only exam I wasn't cramming to understand everything. You get to do a group midterm, which really helps your mark.

If you want to major in marketing, find another prof. She doesn't teach the content at all and expects you to know everything. 30% of your mark is made up of weekly 1% assignments or online quizzes that no one has time or motivation to do. By far the worst prof I've had in first year.

Flipped Classroom is horrible she expects that we learn everything by ourselves whats the need for her to even be there then? Her online quizzes need a-lot of work we cant view what we got wrong and when you ask her she states that if you got over an 70 you dont need to see what you got wrong. I would not recommend her to anyone that is in MKT 100!

"Flipped classroom" where supposingly we are supposed to learn the information at home by ourselves since in class its just an assignment every week. What really pisses me off is that we have an online quiz every week, and we DO NOT get to see what we did wrong. How are we supposed to self learn if we don't know what we did wrong????

Comment:

Mary Foster while respected in her field is using students to prove an incorrect theory. Students have become her guinea pigs in order to advance her career. "Flipped-format" is atrocious, despite 99% of the student body telling her it isn't working. She puts students grades and learning in jeopardy. Profs should take feedback into account.

I thoroughly enjoyed her class. Three main things about the class: Each class is composed of 30 minute class discussion, then a group project due at the end of class(often finished early and left early). Had a great group which made the class great! Go to class, participate in projects and do metrics, easy A. Don't buy the textbook, don't need it!

The course was offered in a "flipped" mode which seemed intriguing at first, but I quickly realized it did not offer many benefits. Much more effort required than in regular lecture courses. Prof did not do such a great job explaining concepts on the audio files. Time consuming and a waste of effort. Avoid this "flipped" mode and avoid this prof

LOL at all the negative comments. Yes Mary piles it on, makes you think for yourself rather than spoon-feeding you and makes it important to pick group members who are not just your old high school buddies. Kinda sounds like the REAL WORLD which is what she's trying to prepare you for (MBA too)! Her class is a cakewalk compared to what's next!

At first when I saw her rating on here I was hesitant in keeping her as a proff but honestly I am SO happy I did. She is honestly one of the most caring proffs I have ever met. As long as you attend class, and go to her office hours for extra help when you need it, you will do well in the course! I really adore this woman. Take her class!!!

Not a good teacher. Very rule focused. Very full of herself and her PhD. She has a PhD. She is the department Chair, did you hear she is the department Chair and has a PhD. But I don't get the sense she knows her stuff at all well.

Only spent one hour in her class. Told us either to love morning classes as much as she does or swap out. So I did. When I left her class I could feel all my bodily muscles unclench. First class was all rules. I felt like I was in eighth grade again. I do not envy those who remained.
