If you ask her a question, she tells you to look in the book and memorize it. There is little to no speaking in her classes, and everything she teaches is straight from the book. Her study guides are not helpful and the tests/quizzes are really hard. I took Spanish for 4 years in HS, and still struggled with stuff I already learned.

Comment:

Attendance is mandatory although you can learn everything in the book. Not even worth going. She also makes you feel dumb if you have questions, and instead of helping you figure it out, she tells you to look in the book. I loved SPN so much, but she made me dread going to class because it was so boring and difficult.

Could have learned everything we did in class online. Don't take it. Her usual response to questions in class makes it seem like "that's just how it is" and nothing more. Not very good at explaining it, but I did enjoy the mock interview at the end.

She tries really hard to make the class understandable, but it is mostly memorization. A lot of things you have to try to learn on your own by reading the textbook or using online resources. I barely passed the class even though I got a tutor at the beginning of the semester and studied constantly. Very difficult unless you already know spanish.

AVOID THIS WOMAN AT ALL COSTS!! The text she uses is unreasonably difficult, time consuming, and tedious to read, and her explanations in class provide no help. Her in class materials are completely useless, yet attendance is mandatory. Put off graduating until next semester if this is the last class you need to take and only she teaches it.

I honestly don't know why people think this class was hard. SHE TELLS YOU EXACTLY what is on the exam. I got a 100% on every exam. You just need to put in a little effort and you'll do fine.

If you honestly thought that this class was difficult then you should either switch your major/minor or you should study more. Jackson is a very nice lady and although she may be difficult to understand at times, as long as you study and put forth effort then you should do perfectly fine. She also tells you exactly what is on each exam.

I was fairly familiar with 75% of the material we were going to talk about over the entire year, so this class was a little easy for me. But if your knew to this class you will need to teach yourself all the verb tenses, study alot and you should at least get a B. Shes not mean, not hard to understand, just ask questions & talk in class and show up

She is not the most exciting teacher, but the class is not hard at all. Just make sure you show up or your grade will plummet. She's very helpful if you go to her office hours. In class, she doesn't seem to teach a lot, but the class itself is pretty much just a review of 201, so there's not much to teach. I would definitely recommend her.

Had her for a few classes. She got better when it was not a language class and instead was history or reading type classes. Was not helpful to begin with, but got better with time.
