worst teacher I have ever had. You will learn absolutely nothing about Model UN; you'll have to learn in conference. The most unreasonable teacher and never sets clear guidelines or abides by her own syllabus. For example, she changed the final exam from a presentation to a 20 mc, 3 short answer, and 1 essay question test A WEEK BEFORE THE EXAM

Hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. Seriously, class is easy, but you will learn absolutely nothing. Grade is made up of 5 online Tests, discussion boards every week, and attendance. Lectures will put you to sleep, and she makes a lot of unfounded statements. She makes you purchase tophat as well, which isn't used by any other teacher.

Almost every class we had "pop" quiz. The questions were very difficult and even if you read and listened in class you would still get most questions wrong. If your opinion doesn't match hers, she thinks you are wrong and doesn't listen. She also requires you to go to 3 discussion sessions outside of class which were not helpful. Avoid.

Really enjoyed taking this International POLS class with Dr. Shepherd. Her lectures were very insightful, and content heavy. Has power points you can bring to class and study further. There are a few extra credit opportunities offered throughout the semester to take advantage of. Quizzes and midterm / final tests are all taken online.

Dr. Shep is a great person if you take the time to listen to her. Attendance is grades, pop quiz if there's a lack of participation and assignments due almost weekly. You have to read the text BEFORE her class and her powerpoints are just a summary. She's funny and her lectures are rarely ever boring. THIS CLASS IS A CHALLENGE BUT IT IS WORTH IT

Professor Shepherd was the best professor I've had at UNCC. I went to her during office hours for a quiz, and she ended up giving me a point on one of the questions because she saw I read. Class is a lot of work, and you need to read your textbook intently and take notes. I learned a lot. If you're lazy class not for you.

People make Dr. Shepherd out to be 1000 times worse than she is but you absolutely either like her or you don't. Her class is very hands off and all her quizzes/tests are online and she lectures once a week. If you show up to class and do her online work you honestly shouldn't have a problem with her. I had her for two courses and they're decent.

Absolutely impossible to work with. She doesn't care about her students and I am still baffled at my experience. I love lecture heavy courses and she just ruined it for me. I wouldn't wish this class on anyone, please do not take this course. If for some reason you have to, keep your head down and just get through it. Good luck.

Dr. Shepard is very intelligent. She does a good job at going through the material thoroughly and answering any questions that students have during and after class. She starts class off with a discussion and lets that lead the lecture in class making sure students are tied into the topic. Use the book for tests and quizzes.

this was a Hybrid class, so our 1 day/week meetings were lecture heavy, and she FLEW through her power points. homeworks were challenging, but not too hard. Class participation drives the lecture. MId-term/Final were 70 questions, with only 60 minutes to complete. Quizzes similar. Feeled rushed during tests, which I dont like.

Good combo of reading and lecture. Tries to get class to participate but let's some students ramble. She gets involved with a lot of things outside of class and is fun to be around.

The class takes a lot of work and is really lecture heavy but she offers quite a bit of extra credit. I learned a lot from this class. Purchasing the textbook is recommended but I did fine without it.

Dr. Shepherd is a great instructor. However, she does make you work for your grade. She's aware most people don't read the textbook, but she doesn't adjust her lectures. There's a lot of material to cover, so she covers the key parts, but the rest is on you. She will often play devil's advocate, and fosters debate. Not an easy A, but not difficult.

Dr. Sheppard seemed very intelligent, but her lectures were power point heavy. I learned a lot in this class. She also does give extra credit a lot more than you'd expect from a college course. She also just started using Top Hat it's efficient but there were moments I would have to ask her to re-run the question just to answer the question.
