The comments I see here do not do Dr. Vernon or this class justice. She can be intimidating if you're not used to talking to your prof, but it's obvious that she loves this class and is devoted to teaching. She clearly wants to help all of her students and goes out of her way to do it. I learned so much from the placement. It's hard but worth it.

Dr.Vernon was/is an amazing prof. She genuinely cares about students' progress and will make time to help clarify any questions you have. This is by no means a 'bird course' and you will not enjoy it if this is your expectation. This is such a unique course and you will see your textbook come alive in the classroom!

This course was amazing, and I can't think of anyone who could have taught it better than Dr. Vernon! She cares about her students and their success and is very passionate about her work. Although strict and seemingly "hard" at times, Dr. Vernon works with students best interests in mind. Definitely a rewarding experience from a wonderful prof!

While this course was the hardest course I have taken to date, Dr. Vernon laid out expectations clearly and assisted her students in schedualing a time frame that would allow the completion of all material with minimal stress. Dr. Vernon was genuine, knowledgable, and available to help everyone. Mutal respect created a great learning enviroment.

I took her course years ago and I am still angry about how unfair she was. She didn't mark half of my final assignment because she said the printed page was smeared and she couldn't read it. I looked at it after and it was barely smeared. Never applied any of my learning from this course to my current carreer in the field.

I would not recommend this course at all. It is so intense that you physically feel the symptoms of the stress-load of the course. It is not worth it. Dr.Vernon seems to contradict herslef on many occasions on how to go about the assignments. Her expectations are so high it's ridiculous. That is all.

Dr. Vernon appears to be caring and loving. Really she is incompassionate and unfair. She does not explain her expectations and then states that she does. She claims to be dedicated to her work, however, she appears to waste her time. I dont understand why she has a policy not to meet students after class. She is not well liked!
