Hahaha, where to begin...Franck was probably a huge shock for the average Radford student, especially for freshmen. Many have cursed him, but he forces you to be a well disciplined student. Most outstanding colleges have lots of Francks, so it's a good experience. If you can't handle Franck don't even think of going to graduate school.

Extremely intelligent, you will learn SO much, but extremely hard. Even if you think you can take the hardness, expect to get a C in his class no matter what type of student you are. He is a very nice man, but his grading is extremely tough. Take him if you want to learn and you can spare a C on your GPA. Honestly, there is no hope for a B ok?

Dr. Franck is an intelligent, helpful, but challenging professor. You have to attend class, take excellent notes, and be a good writer to do well in his courses. He is very knowledgable of the subject material and is always willing to answer questions and clarify political issues. I wouldn't recommend him for an intro course though.

Wow - this professor was almost mind blowing with his command of the material, the english language, and teaching techniques. He is one of the hardest professors or teachers that I have EVER had due to the way he grades papers. However, he is worth it if you value a hard earned and totally insightful education. Incredible class. WOW!

DO Not TAKE this class.I worked about 5 hours on every weekly paper attended class every day. The readings were not hard to read or write a paper on but his grading is Insane. I landed up with a 79 C and appealed my grade which was shot down. Dr. Franck grades people the same no matter how good a paper is. Avoid this class he thinks he is better.

this guy is insanely intelligent...no textbook, just whats up in his head...weekly paper due every friday at 11pm...dont take this class unless you are ready to pay attention and go to class almost every time (you are allowed 3 absences without penalty)..in short, hes brilliant but you have to work to survive

Do not take this class unless you are willing to work your butt off. Dr. Franck is a really smart guy but he has a very unfair grading system. He simply reads your essay (and there are 10 of them in 10 weeks) and puts a grade and then subtracts points for grammar mistakes. He does not give a rubric, he just pulls random numbers out of his head,

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! you will learn alot about the american govn't but it will kill your GPA!!! u spend hours writing papers and can't get a good grade no matter how hard u try. he grades on his opinion and also grammar. Dr. Franck is a really smart teacher, but you will have to work hard for your grade. If you aren't a strong writer I don't suggest taking Intro to American Gov't. We got a 2-3 page paper assignment on Wednesday and it was due Friday every single week. Tough class but rewarding if you're interested in the course material

Very intelligent, nice guy, he gives his essay questions to students a week in advance of the test & then rolls dice on the test day to determine which questions you answer. I had a huge crush on him though so I'm somewhat bias.

Instead of having class discussions, we took notes while he stood in front and read from Plato's Republic. Attendance policy. Required 3-4 page essay every week from the reading. No tests or final exam. Extended paper replaces exam, and is much harder. He also never will bump up your grade.

All we did was read the republic of plato, and discuss it in class, not really discuss it him just stand up there and go over it, i have never been so bored in my entire life. I did not like the class at all.
