I just recently found out abot this website. I took the class 2 years ago he is horrible. He treats his class like children regurgitate everything he says and the films he shows are aweful except for about 3 of them he treats this class like if it is a 300 level class

i do not recommend taking this jerk...i think he probably dreams of film noir at night while plotting ways to keep students from succeeding...i got an "A" but only because i used big words that i knew he would like in my papers...he acts like the studendts are idiots and does not value opinions..stay away

this class totaly changed the way i'll view a movie from now on. we watched lost in translation and a lot of independent films. it was the greatest experience cuase he made me understand that movies are art. awesome class if ur a movie freak like me. he's cool to. i guess he could be a little more lenient on that paper, but other than that cool guy

I hate this guy. He made a 9:am class feel like it was 4 hours. I constantly sent e-mails, left messages for his help and never got any. He always makes it seem like you have the wrong answer and is a nerd. First class I had to drop in college. Thanks Matthew!

i was scared when i saw all these comments about him. im a freshman at the university and i have him for the art of film and video. honestly, i think he's funny and really cool. i dont know how he is about grading and stuff but as long as he gives good notes and can answer ocasional questions...hes good! so...i might not know him all that well....but im gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he wont prove me otherwise...after all..people can change... :)

First C I got in college. I now have to retake this class to up my gpa.expected so much more from a film class. tests had nothing to do with the notes he gave.unclear. he had smart remarks. Hates all actors and most most movies.pick a movie he likes for your paper otherwise your screwed.

He's the worst teacher I've had so far at this school. There's only 4 grades each counting 25%. Quizes are sometimes unrelated to class discussion. Paper is extremely difficult. Seems like he'd be a cool guy outside of school. He's got cocky comments for everything. Can be mean at times.

Great class. Showed great movies. He really helped out with the paper and seems like a genuinely nice guy. Too bad I think he teaches in Kentucky now. Take him if you can.
