Comment:

Maureen Garvin is a caring Professor and brought in coffee and other snacks for her class when she knew we'd stayed up doing a project the night before. Her class is fairly easy to those who already have experience in drawing. I did however learn new things that I didn't know before. She also made funny remarks during classes.

Comment:

She is such a sweet,interesting professor! She is great for drawing 1 because she really REALLY teaches you the basics. All your friends in other classes will be drawing amazing still lifes and you will still be drawing cups. I improved so much in her class, I absolutely recommend! Its not an easy A and does require work but you will enjoy!

Ms. Garvin was an amazing teacher who will help you to the best of her ability if you come to her and ask for it. She stayed after class with me all the time and even came on the weekends! I highly suggest taking her class if you are not so big on drawing and need that extra support.

This is the perfect professor for you if you are not an experienced drawer. Shes super easy and gives baby projects. However, if you like drawing, don't take her. Shes incredibly boring and most of the projects she assigns are ones you did in high school

I disliked this class! We did not learn anything! All the other drawing classes were making beautiful drawings while our projects looked like children drew them. The only medium we used was charcoal and that got extremely boring. Also, we never drew anything hard. We drew water bottles, cups and boxes. That was all. She grades hard! Don't take her!

Professor Garvin is great ! She is extremely committed to the class. She will hold extra help sessions anytime that you need it. She also lets you borrow her supplies and she buys supplies for the class as well. She also gives you an extra day after the critiques to make changes to your project before you have to turn it in for a final grade.

She doesn't actually TEACH anything. Also, she enjoys picking on certain students also. I spent the term trying my absolute hardest and then she'd critique my projects ridiculously. Even when I showed upperclassmen my work and they said it was 'A' work, she gave me C's and D's. DON'T TAKE HER.
