Professor Usselman is the sweetest man, he shows genuine interest in his students and their success in the course. He's VERY helpful, provides out-of-class review sessions, and explains things very well. Organic chem is very hard, but it couldn't be taught by a better prof. He even does 'Student of the day' to get to know his students better!

I went to both Dr. Usselman and Dr. Lee's lectures and they are both great profs and make an amazing team to teach orgo! His teaching style is very good, he shows a VERY high level of concern for his students' success, and he is easy to understand. He is very enthusiastic, but his jokes could be kinda cheesy sometimes. He has fair exams but not easy

Great professor with excellent teaching methods. Orients lectures and course notes towards what is directly testable and what will provide students most value for study time. Preferred him over Professor Lee, although both are excellent.

brilliant man. organic chem was not my forte, I struggled though the course despite his organized lectures and excellent teaching methods. I hated the material, but he was a really enjoyable prof. he really wants everyone to succeed and he's so patient and so sweet. exactly the kind of calibre I would hope for in a professor at the univeristy level

Fantastic professor, takes a real interest in helping students succeed. By far my favourite prof ever. Makes class interesting and enjoyable, I actually looked forward to Organic Chem. Lectures were well planned and organized. I don't think I would have done as well in the course if it wasn't for him; I can't say enough good things about him.

To put it simply, what every prof should strive to become. Knows everything about orgo, funny and takes a subject that is about as dry as hell and makes it interesting.

Most amazing professor. He is overall such a great guy, both in lecture and in person. I was not looking forward to this class at all but it turned out to be one of my favourites. It's a tough class but the tests are fair. Anyone who says otherwise didn't study hard enough.

Ussleman is a great prof in a course that alot of people already presupose as being ridiculously hard and therefore are uninterested. It's not, or at least Usselman makes it that way. Very clear prof, very understanding and knows exactly how students tackle orgo problems. Makes him more effective. Don't memorize, just remember "electron pushing".

Good professor in a particularly difficult course. The mid-term was definitely a little harder hitting than was expected judging from the past exams. Go to class, stay on top of your****, and Usselman will pull you through. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt, would-be doctors with crushed dreams tend to be a little vindictive.

I was really excited to take this class, and was completely disappointed with the outcome! Although in class he seems like a great prof who explains things really well, prepare like no tomorrow for the exams or you will be blown out of the water! Whatever he tells you will most likely be on the exam probably wont be! Good student of the day howeve

He's an awesome prof - really tries hard to make you understand and also tries hard to be sympathetic. I love the student of the day. The only downside is that he really doesn't explain why things happen. I know we're supposed to "understand" not "memorize" but that doesnt happen.

An awesome teacher! He really knows how to make orgo interesting, and in one-on-one consultation he was genuinely interested and very helpful. It's hard to keep your head on straight when you have 700+ students asking you similar questions. Tough exams, but keep up the good work!
