I'd say she's very good as a lab instructor, but not a top choice for lecture courses. Her teaching is very informative but not really focused on the fundamental materials we need to know for the exams as well as the course. Again, TAKE HER FOR LAB.

Gives practical lab references to material being taught. keeps class interesting. 2 pass w/ A you must know power points . great in ofc. hrs. HARD TESTS. test style changes for every test, 1st: ALL open ended, 2nd:long & again open ended w/ a few pages of mult.c. 3rd: equal open ended and mult c.- gives pract. tests much easier than actual test.

Orgo is a hard course so no matter what you have to work hard and study. Dr. C does a really good job explaining concepts and is really helpful if you have questions. She gives back exams, has review sessions, and doesn't test you on anything that wasn't covered in class. I think she improved her teaching style. She also has has bonus q's on exams.

Do not have her as your orgo prof. She skims over PowerPoint slides and rarely ever give helpful examples, and will add questions to material either skipped over in class or stated isn't that important. Very nice lady but teaching method is near nonexistent

She is a very hard teacher. Organic chem is a tough class but she made a summer course awful. I taught myself the entire semester. She gives optional homework from an awful book that I did not buy. I used my own book that I borrowed from a friend. Her tests are impossible. Save yourself a semester and DO NOT TAKE HER!

Comment:
Very nice person and is willing to offer time in office hours but her methods of teaching are downright terrible; straight from the book slides. That might sound bearable to one who has never taken Ochem but its an extremely 3dimensional course. She rambles without any class participation and speaks as if students have previous knowledge of course.

Do not take Dr. C for orgo. She does not show how complex reactions work and gets her entire lecture from online power points. She makes tests harder than the information that she teaches. I learned more in the 2 days we had a substitute than the entire semester with her. Save yourself the trouble; you'll probably end up retaking it anyway.

The class is organic chemistry, expect it to be very difficult with any professor. Dr. C is just as good as the next teacher, and her quizzes & tests are tough but fair. Don't get behind, and do the practice problems in the book. On that note, the textbook is really horrible. Use google once you get into Sn2/E2/Sn1/E1 he11.

Do not take cichowicz for organic chemistry. She does not equip students well enough for her exams, which are ridiculously challenging and contain material never seen in the lectures or textbook. The exams contain way too much material and I was not able to complete any of them. She leaves out VERY important details from lecture.

Dr. C is a good person, but the worst possible professor to take for orgo. Her lectures are irrelevant to her exams and her practice exams are worthless. I've learned more from a house lamp than the textbook. Expect nights gouging your eyes out preparing for the exams. Save yourself some time, dignity, and a good pair of eyeballs. Don't do it!

Dr. C is an awesome person, so nice!! However, she teaches organic from powerpoint slides which makes it really difficult to learn. Still, she is very helpful. Take another professor if you can but you can still do good in her class! TAKE HER FOR LAB SHE IS AMAZING AND THE BEST BY FAR!!!

Dr. C works directly from the text book in lecture. She doesn't sip over anything, and she answers any questions u have. You really need to do homework then ask questions over problems you didn't understand. She doesn't work problems out-rather explains concepts. She is thorough and VERY NICE!!! notes, homework, ask questions, & u will do awes

Wonderful professor, but not very good at teaching the material. On the rare occasions that she stops using the powerpoints, she's excellent at it; but unfortunately she uses the powerpoint way too much. Not a good choice for a lecture professor at all!

What an animated personality she has. I say NAY for lecture, but YAY for lab. Normally I like powerpoint, but for organic chemistry it just doesn't help. She uses textbook-issued slides, so you don't get a sense of what she considers really important. Take someone else for lecture, but go with her for lab!

I LOVE her as a person, very sweet lady, but she needs to ditch the text book issued pp slides, and just start teaching the old fashioned way. She's also too busy in other areas of her life, so test & homework grades often come back too late to actually be useful. I think she could be a great teacher, but not right now.

She is nice and knowledgeable, but doesn't seem serious about teaching. Doesn't give back grades in a timely manner and her exams are too long to finish in an hour. Gave homework for the easier material but the more difficult stuff at the end of the semester had no homework, wrecking the last half of the class when it's too late to withdrawal.

She is a very smart and nice woman, but her lectures are very boring and lacked emphasis on key points. The tests are incredibly difficult and demoralizing! The average for the last lecture exam was a 48%.. enough said.

I would NOT recommend this professor. Lectures will put you to sleep and tests are extremely hard, the class avg was between 50-60 for every test. Barely curves at the end of the class. Awful teacher do not take if you don't want to repeat!
