He's fine, nothing special. The concepts themselves were dry and the assignments were quite subjective. But, if you're looking for help or an extension, he is very approachable and understanding. Study the textbook every week and you'll come out with a decent grade - chapters are only 15 pages anyways.

Comment:

Nice guy but an ineffective professor. He trails off in lecture and literally lectures from the textbook. He expects you to memorize the course text for tests. You may as well just not go to class. This was more of an aesthetics of map making class. This course was a joke because it was so easy but I didn't learn anything new.

He is a nice man, but an inefficient university professor. Didn't learn anything in the class itself, was completely textbook based (you have to just about memorize the textbook for the exam). Would not recommend this professor to anyone.

He is a horrible prof who doesn't teach and only talks about his life. First class won't seem bad but only goes down from there. Should not be paid to teach as he only tests you on if you can remember what happens in the book and when it happens. He even said to know the chapter numbers for the exam. Ridiculous. Avoid if you can.

Absolutely ridiculous teaching methods. He is a funny guy, but that is not helpful in any way when you pay $7000 a year to learn. He talks about his life during lecture and then tests you on the textbook.Unfair marking method where he cares about art more than actual content. Ridiculous.

Also had Paz for 115, good guy, not the best teacher but ask for help and he'll do everything he can to help you. Best advice is, ask for help...don't expect him to come to you. For GEO3000 he's great, if you get a chance take field camp with him. Great experience!

I had him for 115 and 208. Do the mock exam!!! 50% or above similarity. His lecture = mess! Geo 115, he expects you to remember the entire chapter (he gives the chapter outline, you write about the chapter during exams); Geo280, even tougher!! Thick book, random stuffs...but the mock exam save me thru. i got 70.

I think he has a grading dice that he rolls and assigns a grade based on that to save time. Everything he says in class is irrelevant and he likes pretty colors on assignments. Biggest waste of time ever, despite the fact that his course is easy if you earn the favor of his grading dice.
