I took this course during the summer provided by the calgary board of education as dual credit for high school and university. He talks a lot but it's interesting since he has a lot of experience in the psychology field. He is practically a giant teddy bear and the tests are really easy if you study well!!

Pretty good prof. Boring at times, but because of the material. Make sure you study every piece of vocab from the textbook, studying the slides and attending class helps, but text is KEY. study for 3 days in advance, cover vocab, practice on wiley website, then you will get around a B with only a couple days effort.

Tests were very hard and he tested on things he said he wouldn't. Need to read the textbook to do well on the tests because a lot of topics he barely teaches but tests in detail on.

He is a good prof and he is very passionate about the subject, the Baby Human series he showed in the class was hilarious. The assigned reading was too long and I think the TA was not fair in grading the papers, I almost spent 30 hours on the last paper and got a B-! I guess he is not going to teach any classes any more.

One of the best profs! He's a funny and nice guy. He posts his lectures online so you don't really have to come to class. He has a soft voice though, so sit near the front or just listen to the podcast. Always starts the class where he asks the students if we have any questions, which is generally nice to hear.

Hated this class. He's a great guy but super laid back does not care to really teach anything not friendly if visit him in office hours. Is not there for his students, will not round grade up even if you're .17% away from the next letter.

His lectures are interesting, and it's clear that he's fascinated by what he's teaching. He posts all the lectures online, and his slides are super helpful. I found that the textbook was good to have, since he takes everything straight out of it. He only gives three midterms and a final, all of which are MC. Liked him more than other PSYC profs.

I was fairly interested in the course material and therefore I did better than the class average on the midterms and finals. Read the textbook and focus on the sections which overlap with the notes. His MC questions can sometimes be vague. He usually takes 1-2 questions out of the final and midterms (boosts up your grade). Also you get a 6% bonus!

If you go to class, read the textbook, and take notes on what he says, you will get an A. Very clear lectures and very interesting information if developmental psychology is up your alley. Written assignments are graded fairly according to rubric. Also uploads lectures to the internet.

Boyes is enthusiastic and quite funny. I found the lectures rather boring, but he posts podcasts so you can stay home. I took it as a GPA booster, but found it not to be an easy A, it's easy to get in the 70-80% range on all tests but have to be really interested and have the time to get higher than that. Gives bonus marks. 80% of tests from book.

Super understanding professor. Will let you reschedule one of his quizzes if you give a good reason. His quizzes and wording are confusing though. I typically get A-/A in psych courses and the quizzes threw me off enough to drop me by a letter grade. Boring class, nice professor.

Dr Boyes is one of the best profs that I have encountered so far. I have taken a couple of classes with him and it has always been an amazing experience. He is enthusiastic and very easy to approach. He is also passionate about the subject he teaches. He is one of the few profs that actually care about students!

This class was a little boring at times because it was a 1hr 15 minute class, but he had a lot of interesting examples and lecture materials (videos, diagrams, in class "experiments") that made it more interesting. He posts his lectures as podcasts on d2l as well, so attendance is non-mandatory. He was extremely helpful and very enthusiastic.

Dr Boyes is one my favourite and by far the EASIEST prof at U of C. He podcasts every lecture/posts notes, so your lazy ass doesn't even need to go to class. Good 60-70% of exam material is straight from the textbook. Read the textbook and watch the videos & this class is an easy A.

Seems like a very nice, very knowledgable guy. His tests were very fair if you'd studied from the slides AND read the textbook. There was the occasional question on tests that was from the textbook but not mentioned in the slides. His podcasts are very helpful and are great if you don't feel like attending lectures. Papers were marked generously.
