Good to hear he hasn't changed since I had him- 20 years ago! Yes, he loved Star Trek and Worf just as much back then. He is eccentric, but if you can look past that and see his crazy analogies for what they are he makes a lot of sense. Don't look for him to regurgitate crap out of a text book, he looks out the window and tells you what he see's

If you don't have a sense of humour.. you should probably not take his class, and drop out of university. I took every class he ever offered, never got better than a B+ but don't care. His swears made me attend class, and if you don't like Star Trek, don't take sociology. This was the only prof that ever let me crack a beer in class. Awesome!

Hated this prof. I had him for first year sociology, and ended up dropping the course because I couldn't stand to listen to him. He makes COUNTLESS refrences to Battlestar Galicta (spelling) and jumped around on topics pretty bad.

Took two of his classes. You will either love him or hate him. There is no in between. You must be willing to think outside the box and be ready for a challenge and a bit of hard work. He will make you do both.He is a difficult marker. He wants your ideas, your theory's, your assumptions, no one else's. Stick to that and you will do great.

Michael Clow is a great proff. I know there are students who find him overbearing and that he brings some of his own beliefs to class. This is all a part of the way he challenges his students to emnploy a sociological imagination. I wish i could take his class again. P.S. for those who can't hack it...maybe its time to take a look at the real world

I had Clow in first year, I’m going into my final year now. The man was entertaining, never a dull moment in class. However, he expected way too much from students straight outta high school on the subject of Sociology. The transition from high school to college isn’t really that hard, but it was for this class. Good luck future students.

Professor Clow is a hard marker but this is university get use to it. His star trek references are hard to understand for those of us who don't watch it, but he is hilarious. I recommend this class to anyone who is willing to do some work.

A very passionate and interesting professor. However, it can be clearly seen that he is above the heads of his students. A fair few-- those with attention spans-- can derive a great deal of importance from his lectures. A relevant and opinionated thinker. Do not take this class if you are slack or stupid; you will likely fail and you won't get it

I was appauled that he would bring his own beliefs (when they had no relation to the course what so ever) into the classroom, trying to brainwash impressionable students to feel the same. This on top of the Star Trak voices was enough for me to drop the class right away. Horrible prof, cannot keep his own opions in che

He is out there. Far far out there. He is a major fan of star trek. A junkie. He would speak in weird voices and had a plethora of facial hair. He hardly ever gave a grade over a C. If you voiced your frustration he would start to talk in a voice of some foreign language on star trek. do yourself a favor, trek yourself into a diff class!!!!!!
