His course, while interesting enough, didn't pose much of a challenge. Not a single piece of work was returned, graded, or commented upon which is extremely unhelpful. His apathy (?) seems difficult to contain sometimes. Despite this, his initiative in organizing student recitals is redeeming, at least.

Apathetic man and it reflects in the quality of the music program. The quality of musicianship in this program is no where close to those of U of T and Humber, and it's reputation is just as lousy. Show some passion for the student body for goodness sake.

Wow... he is so awesome and motivating!!! He really makes me feel good about myself and my musical abilities. His lectures are very intriguing, and my gosh, he knows a lot!!! (I had him for a piano jury once, and a few lectures in baroque music history and romantic music history).

One of the most understanding people that I've ever met. I had to enrol back to York from McGill due to financial reasons... This man could have easily given me the cold shoulder and said no since I had decided to leave the program in the first place... instead he gave me academic direction. Thank

Michael is a really good prof. e knows a lot about music and has a good sense of humour. Like one of the previous comments mentioned, you do need to ask the right questions to get some information out of him and you don't want to get on his bad side.

You either love him or hate him. Get on his good side, and he'll give you all the breaks. Get on his bad side, and he'll make your life very difficult. He knows a lot about music, but he only gives you information if you ask the right questions.
