Professor Comeau is super laid back, which is definitely nice to have in a first year professor. He takes attendance, but usually gives up because so many people stop attending his lectures. His lectures are super boring and he basically just reads you slide shows, but the assignments you do are easy and his tests are also easy. Take him for intro.

Super easy for first year students, kind of boring with his lectures. 90 minute lectures only usually go on for 45 minutes. Not a lot of assignments

Comment:

During my entire undergrad career I've never had a prof as boring as Comeau. I've been in some intense bird classes before (Titus, George, Levan) but holy hell his class takes boring to a new level. Not only is the material dry and terrible, he's completely monotone. He's smart, no denying it, but I stopped going altogether and still got an A.

Comment:

I've learned more from Comeau's classes than many others. A common criticism is that his courses incite boredom but I completely disagree. If you're not into the material, you will probably be bored, but it's unfair to attribute that to his lectures. He is extremely knowledgeable but doesn't have that high-brow attitude whatsoever. Great prof.

Great guy, really cool if you get to know him personally too. Very clear about what he's looking for, and marks very fairly. Knows what he's talking about and so long as you pay attention, you're golden. Cancels class often, and ends classes early every time.

I enjoyed codes a lot more than I did the charter. Mike likes participation, is good at mediating debate and doesn't ask too much where it comes to writing. Recommended

Very clear about what he expects.. Very to the point during his lectures, he doesn't waste your time, he does cancel class lots but you don't suffer from it. He is an easy marker and he's very understanding if you need help. I would take more classes with him.

Love this guy, he cancels class lots, but he does not waste time during his lectures so you don't miss anything. Easy marker and is clear about what he wants. Very knowledgable and is willing to help his students if they need it.

Very monotone, but gives great notes. Is a pretty easy marker. No midterm, but there are 3 small papers, one research paper and an exam. Very forgetful, but he does only work part-time. Will arbitrarily cancel class, and will only post on webCT.

this man is deathly boring. I call him comeau-bot. I'm glad a lot of his classes are mandatory, because they are so easy. He cancels classes 2 minutes before he is due to attend them, and his monotone voice makes it hard to concentrate, but hes a real nice guy.

Although I'm very interested in the subject mater of human rights, Micheal Comeau bored me to DEATH. Going to class is pointless... I skipped countless classes and still got an A+. If you take his class, make sure to do the presentation, if you do it well, the extra points really come in handy. Nice guy... but class format not a well thought out

Okay so he's a little boring. IS the declaration of Human rights ever that interesting? He is really witty, just watch for it. I liked the class, it was too easy.
