Comment:

Literally like 2-3 things that he grades you on. 10% participation/attendance, 30% in class papers and 60% research project. Research project is impossible to ace and the dude lectures every damn class period. Would never take again and would never recommend.

Too old to be prancing around with a 26ish year old on his arm..... And he needs to look at his program. He sets it up so people are forced to cheat. Then gets offended when told this. Wouldn't take him again.

Comment:

Dr. Daher is a good teacher. I think that to consider taking his class, you should really be a "lover of the literature". This class may help to improve your writing skills, but requires a lot of hard work and determination. Be prepared to read and write a lot. Good thing, the lectures may help to make the tasks easier. Don't miss too many classes.

His final paper on an awful book is worth 70% of the final grade. the final paper has no clear instructions. Such as: no number of needed for the notes "you just need enough" most of my class failed the paper and it took my grade form an A to a C without much clear reasoning. I'm here because 3.5 is a lie; Daher needs a negative score.

I love reading and I'm great at it but the expectations in this class were just ridiculous. We read The Catcher in the Rye first, great book. Then we got started on Crime and Punishment and he expected way too much out of us. This is an incredibly difficult 150 year old Russian novel and he expected 20 pages every day. Nope!

Strongly recommend him! He is very clear with what he wants, and never emphasizes on grammar except the research paper. He makes this class a real composition class, rather than strongly emphasizing grammar.

I can only say that he is the best instructor I've ever had. He gives a lot of work, but that's what we are here for. It's actually easy to get a good grade in his class, because the total number of assignments include 2-3 in class essays and a research paper. He divides the reading reasonably, so that it doesn't get overburdened. Take him!!

AMAZING CLASS AND TEACHER!!! If you're looking for a GREAT Eng132 teacher, then look no more! You've found him! I loved this class! I learned a lot from Dr. Daher. He helps you read "between the lines" of a novel. He focuses a lot on the underlying meaning and author's motive of including certain metaphors, events, and so on. MUST TAKE CLASS!!!

Prof. Daher is perhaps the most work demanding professor I have ever had. With that said, he is my favorite professor and I really fell in love with the books we read. He offers HFCC a University level teaching at a community college price.

The class is hard, you have to do a lot of reading. He is into psych and puts this into his class. He can be a bit of an odd ball but the class was fun I wouldn't take it again just due to the fact of the research project it took up to much time if you have to work go to school.

Dr. Daher's class is both extremely easy and difficult. With the first book, there's a simple in-class essay. However, there's a second project worth 60% of your grade, and he won't accept it after its due date. You will spend hours upon hours on this one project, making it hard to do work for other classes. I'd say to not take this class.

This teacher sucks! He treats all his students like children. You can't even use the bathroom unless you have a medical problem. Everyone MUST raise their hands or he flips. He's rude, loud, and weird. Your "research project" is worth 60%, if you don't do it you fail. If you don't complete ur notes he won't let you write ur papers. DON'T TAKE HIM!!

Comment:

Dr. Daher is a different character! He makes you do so many unnecessary notes! He gives you credit for them but still, it is annoying. The research project is 60% of your grade so if you don't turn it in you fail. He is a nice guy and you will learn a lot but he is a little difficult at time. By the way he tolerates no electronics in his class!
