Darcher went above and beyond with his teaching. The best professor I've ever had. If I could, I would take all his classes just to improve my writing. Has the BEST feedback, constantly initiating growth and providing opportunities for students. He saw my writing potential and helped me learn how to write better and self-correct my literature

Michael Darcher is the best professor I have ever taken and it was an absolute honor to be in his class. He taught me so so much about English and was always available to help out when his students needed him. He's the one who made SLAM possible and inspired so many great writers. The realest OG. Miss having him around.

Well, to be honest, Mr Darcher is one of the best teacher. I give very useful feedbacks and expects his student to overcome all of the challenges in Writing skill. You should believe in the one that you choose. Some people said he is strict. I do not think so. He is very funny though. Believe me. You had better dig in to get to know him :")

Darcher is the best prof I've ever taken. He's very clear about what is expected and is always willing to help. I've taken both Eng107 and Eng236 with him and he's super reasonable. Expect reading almost every day but never more than 10 pages at one time. You don't have to be a writing expert to pass his classes. Very inspiring person.

Darcher is very much a writer and because of that he gives his students the freedom to express themselves in their own ways. He grades less on content and more on effort. Also he is laidback and can be convinced to push back due dates if the class so needs. Furthermore the content of his class is inspiring and he pushes his student to be great.

I love Darcher's creative writing class. Yeah, there's a short story to be read almost every night - from three different text books. I did grow discouraged with my writing because of this class, but nonetheless it was really fun and Darcher is amazing. Warning, he is very intimidating at first.

Darcher's creative writing class was.. well.. creative! I grew a lot as a writer, in my appreciation for other's works as well as a higher expectation for my own work. Lots of class discussions, very easygoing environment. You feel comfortable. Participation in discussions is essential. I'm taking another of his classes, I loved it that much.

Michael Darcher is single-handedly the best teacher I have had in all my life. He is a published writer and poet; he knows what he's doing and saying. He has great stories to tell. He involves the students in every lessonlecture. Assignments were fun. He is THERE FOR YOU. You can trust him. I would recommend Darcher to anybody. He is amazing.

I loved Mr. Darcher's class! He did everything possible to make our writing experience positive. My level of writing was revolutionized after taking his class. He was always willing to assist and help if a student was struggling. Just ask. One thing I would suggest is renting the Prose Reader. We only used it a few times. Great class!!

I have been pretty skeptical about the English teachers at Pierce, but Michael Darcher has renewed my faith. The class was pretty simple just write a paper every couple of weeks. He gives good direction and spells out what he is looking for.

The material in his class was really interesting and I enjoyed the class discussions. The papers however absolutely killed me, I hated them... I was very confused on his expectations. But then again I don't like writing or being creative and I took a creative writing class.

Darcher is an awesome teacher. He encourages students to develop their own opinions and creativity. Class discussions are great, he really gets you to think about the literature you read. He is an amazing English professor. The first week he can seem weird, but as you get to know him and his ethics he becomes a fantastic teacher whom others should look up too. He made a normally boring class quite enjoyable. He encourages creativity highly.
