She is very strict with late work, if you turn an assignment in late and it has to do with the next assignment you will get zeros on both. Hard to get a response from, and isn't considerate of anyone. If she disagrees on your argument in a paper you will be receiving a horrible grade.

DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. It's hard to understand what she wants out of her students. You won't find a rubric/expectations on one page, you have to click on multiple links to find all of the expectations for a single assignment and hope you don't miss any. If you do, your paper won't be graded. Her feedback is far from helpful as well.

She's very unclear with her assignment instructions and takes way too long to get back to emails or canvas messages. Sometimes she would give very vague/confusing feedback on a Friday night then say she was checking out for the weekend, leaving me just as confused and unable to do my work. Her "feedback" is not constructive, it's just rude.

I REALLY wish I would have read this before I took her class. I was stoked to take this class...and now I am now failing, and have never even dropped down to an F even temporarily in my entire college career.Her assignments are the most unclear and harshly graded requests. I loved this class until the very end. I did really well, received feedback that I was meeting all expectations, even got a 100% on my midterm but then received a 3.8 in the class with no feedback as to how I could have done better. When I asked about it, she attempted to drag me into an email debate about whether GPA matters or not.

This teacher was terrible!I took her online.I love writing and reading, always have. But this teacher made me feel like I didn't even know how to craft a thesis. Knit picks on the most random things, and is unreasonable with grading. Expects you to know things that she never covered and does not give good feedback. Terrible teacher,DON'T TAKE HER!

Ive taken two classes with Sharon, she's a sweetheart, you just have to be able to read her well. Ive taken 236 (Which is tons of fun) and 239, which happens to be a bit hard, but she's only pushing you to be the best writer she knows you can be. Her classes are based on YOUR IMPROVEMENT not anything else, so bettering yourself, is the main goal

I'm a straight A student and struggled with this class. The actual content of the class is not difficult, but the professor is unreasonable. She is extremely snotty with student and condescending. She docks masses amount of points for any form of creativity in writing. She's not clear or helpful and pawns a lot of her work off on to the librarian.

One of the worst teachers I have come across at Pierce. I received a 1.3 in her class, but when I took it with another teacher I received a 3.7..Tell me how that works. Very hard, vague and unclear. When you ask for help she is very rude an doesn't give any sort of help. She will tell you to ask the librarian..even though she is the teacher. AVOID!

This professor was extreamly vauge when explaining expectations, and was not clear at all. Her grading system is very confusing and She grades extremely harshly. When I asked for help she was rude and condescending as though she was mocking me. I would strongly recommend against taking this professor if you want to get a good grade.

This teacher is somewhat organized, but her expectations are unclear. She gives a lot of reading, but does not explain how she wants writing to be structured and then critques you based on the expecations she did not even mention and is harsh and a little rude when you ask for help. I do not reccomend her. It seems like shes trying to confuse you.

Online-She gives a lot of work with little clarity. Plan on getting help from the librarian because she is not very helpful in the learning process unless you are one who works better with a disrespectful teacher. She is very passionate about English, not so much about student learning. Most of the class dropped. I do NOT recommend this professor!

This professor is very demanding. She has high expectations for your work from the very beginning of the quarter. As if she expects you to already know the things she is suppose to be teaching you gradually through out the quarter. She nit-picks usage of words in essays. She docks major points for poor literary merit.

Had this professor for two separate classes, she was very passionate and helpful when taken seriously. Has very low tolerance for laziness and can be a stickler for semantics, but is overall very friendly and encouraging if you're respectful towards her class & her time. Classes are difficult and very involved but overall enjoyable.

She is very confusing. Most of the students in the class were from running start (still in high school) and she I'm pretty sure she thought the class was full of idiots. Her instructions weren't clear. I never knew what she was looking for. I don't recommend her if you are looking for an easy-going class.

I wouldn't take this teacher either. She did not return any of my emails. She showed favoritism in the class. She wasn't clear on instructions. I took her class 3 qtrs ago online. She was very rude and not professional.
