Taught class for the first time. Had no idea how to do questions. No idea on how to teach the material. Exams didn't correlate with the way he taught. If you do take his courses make sure you get extra help to pass class.

I don't really have anything good to say about his teaching. Actually I have nothing. Seems like a nice person. But is not good at teaching. Take my word , he is NOT good at teaching. Absolutely avoid! Or take a class with him and in 1 year you'll be writing this post

Very focused on explaining the theory in depth, but does not test on it. Does few examples in class, and the ones used are generally too basic to be worthwhile.

Honestly, either this was his first time teaching the class, or he just doesn't know the material at all. He doesn't post his notes online, and instead he will spend half the class correcting himself. He doesn't give numerical examples either, so if you are someone who learns by seeing examples that actually make sense, avoid him if you can.

I went to every class but I felt like I did all me learning from the textbook or the tutorials. His examples are very confusing and the only times he uses example with numbers the examples are very basic and not very helpful. It's nice that he made the wiki but just the buy the textbook because it's clearer and uses actual examples.

I took this course before and got a C, but needed a C+. He is a terrible prof, not much need to go to the lectures and he refuses to use numerical examples (only alpha ones) so it makes it quite confusing and pointless. He created a wiki for his course and relies on it WAY too much and if you ask a question he says to check the wiki. Avoid him

Corny. Annoying. Terrible handwriting and really only teaches through proofs which was so confusing for me. The lab instructor was the only reason i ever understood anything because honestly i would be on the brink of falling asleep in that class every time without fail.

Dr. Doob often makes things more complicated and/or confusing than they need to be, and the lab TA explained everything MUCH more clearly, and the textbook was vital to actually understanding the course material. I found he explains the matrices material okay, but he really went downhill during the second half of the course.

You'll be learning everything from your textbook, your T.A., and past exams. Nothing he says improves your knowledge and it's such a waste of time. Although you should still attend class to know where you should be for the tests that will be on the material learnt the day before.

Boring as hell. Rambles sometimes. Doesn't explain proofs, just copies them from textbook. Some content is outside textbook. Hard to stay awake. Course is mechanically pretty easy, but abstract, since everything blurs together. Prof doesn't help make it much clearer.

Not a good prof at all! I learned more from a day of studying Grant's than 2 weeks of his lectures. Useless proofs that won't be on quizzes/exams, they only take up time. Limited examples in class, and the textbook is not of much help either. No point of coming to class. And he gets mad when you ask questions, says its "obvious", when it's not...

Almost useless in class. When asked a question about the notes, he gets flustered because someone doesn't understand at his level yet. Grant's Tutoring is the only reason I passed.
