I see too many people on here bashing this professor, have some respect. You work for what you get. If you put effort into it, your mark will reflect that. If anyone wants an honest review about Dr. Emond ( yes Dr, for those complaining that you need to call him by what he is, a Dr) gives clear grading criteria, awesome lectures and was great!

Extremely unreasonable. Talks down to you as if you're stupid. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone but if its between Emond and Legault, pick Emond cause you might have a slightly better chance of passing with a 50.

Comment:

I feel like Mr. Emond thinks we should all be naturals at this Statistics stuff. Maybe he would be a decent teacher in a real class, but in an online class, not so sure. The classwork was easy enough, and he provided videos that were helpful. However, he is very impersonal, a bureaucratic type. The exam was horrendous.

Homework was reasonable but I handed in an assignment a couple hours late by accident but was an automatic 0. The exam was worth 50% and was so lengthy I spent every second writing profusely and still had two questions unanswered. I emailed him regarding this and he essentially scoffed at me. Oh yeah and don't forget to refer to him as Dr.

I have never met an individual who is so rude. His intro statistics class includes work from year 3 and 4 stats. If you ask a question he will ridicule you. Absolutely awful experience. Do not take any of his courses.

Makes fun of you if you can't do simple math, hard marker, doesn't explain things well, will randomly put numbers on the board and expect you to understand, slow at getting things back, have no idea what my grade is going into the exam

Amazing professor, he was extremely understanding of me and answered all of my questions. His grading criteria is clear and if you follow it and study it, I'm sure you'll do well. Although there's a lot of info to process, he grades fairly. I'm definitely taking him again, amazing prof.

Michael Emond cares for no one but himself. I literally had surgery and was out of school for 3 weeks and he told me my "illness was no excuse". Would absolutely not take another one of his classes.

The second year stats is very difficult and he does not go easy on you, the good thing is... you are forced to learn the material and it will be helpful in the yrs afterward. He adds a lot of humour into his lectures to keep things interesting. Good teacher

Great Prof. He's a tough grader and you need to know the course material to do well. All material is clearly given in the lectures. For the exam, he even made gave us a review checklist. After learning everything on that checklist, the exam was a piece of cake!! You can go visit him in his office at any time! He is always willing to help!

Micheal Emond is extremely arrogant and rude. He does not care about the student. He thinks he is superior, to the point where he has made me feel like I cannot go to him for questions regarding the course. I would recommend avoiding his classes at all costs. Horrible teacher.

I really enjoyed his class. I learned so much. I took Evolutionary Psych with him and it was very interesting. The only thing I didn't like was that we were graded by few things; a midterm, an essay and an exam worth 50% of our final grade. He's funny and keeps class entertaining but make sure you do the work.
