Comment:

Dr. Gardiner is an amazing professor. He really cares about his students and is incredibly intelligent - in a non-condescending way. He is very good at facilitating conversation and he is willing to work with you to develop an educated viewpoint/argument. Dr. Gardiner is a very fair marker as well - just make sure you show up to class.

Comment:

I loved taking SOC3404 and SOC4401 with Professor Gardiner. He is honestly one of the most intelligent people you will ever meet - but also very kind and open for conversation. Though these courses were mandatory, they were among my favourite courses I took at Western. He is quite approachable and will help you with anything you need.

Probably the most intellectual person I've ever met but comes across as a little bit pretentious. I felt stupid a couple of times. Prefers theoretical over real. Very quiet but fairly engaging. Extremely fair marker. Actually wished he made me think a little bit more critically. Great at answering emails when you need help. Good overall.

I loved having Professor Gardiner...he was immensely helpful and super nice and gave you a chance to understand the readings/presentations...he never makes you feel stupid and is quite encouraging, not an easy course but worth it

Possibly the smartest person you'll ever meet. I implore every undergraduate sociology student to take his theory courses. If you're looking for one of those truly inspirational professors that will expand your mind and challenge you, he's the one. A remarkable professor and human being. Easily the best in the sociology department.
