A very interesting and interested guy. He is super smart and very nice. He literally does *so* much outside of class that it's almost hard to believe he does such an amazing job at being a teacher. I've had to email him at ridiculous times and for extra curricular work I was doing and he was ALWAYS there, ready to help. Amazing guy!!

Tests are hard if you don't have a background in history and haven't any other advanced French classes. Have to be very good at writing in French to do well on essays and papers. Each exam had a different format, which was confusing for me. Expects you to know 100 vocabulary words for each exam. I honestly got nothing out of this class.

Very nice and helpful teacher. The tests can be tough if you don't read and study. He gives you essay questions before hand so you can prepare, and he gives little true/false in-class exercises that help you understand the reading. Would definitely take another of his classes.

He is enthusiastic about his material but his lectures are incredibly boring. His tests are subjective and the homework assignments are challenging. For someone who hates to read at all, i would not recommend this class. if you need it for your major like i did, go to class and you will be ok.

Contrary to what the other folks said, his classes are NOT boring. He makes French fun to learn, and his enthusiasm is infectious. He has traveled in France extensively, and his personal stories are a good touch to the class.
