I had Helliwell during Spring '12 & is he hard? YEP! However he is one of the few teachers I respect: he teaches firmly, yet fairly. There are no tests, only 3 lengthy papers & he is VERY clear on how they need to be done. If students do poor or fail it's bc they either didn't show up for class or didn't put time into construcing a quality paper.

Marketing 101 is easy subject. Most of it is common sense. But the Prof will openly mock you for any questions you have. He just leans his head against the wall and yells at you for 3 hours. NO FUN. WORST PROF EVER

Are you looking for an easy A? If yes, this isn't the class for you. But, if you're looking to actually learn something and are willing to put in the time and effort, definitely take this class. He's definitely there to help you, but you have to show an effort on your part as well. Planning on taking him again next semester, love his class!

WORST PROFESSOR EVER!He gives you 3 exams.I got 80's on both.However the date of the project i had food poisioning.I sent him the project via email that day.He responded that he wouldnt accept it because i wasn't IN CLASS to hand it in(I even gave him a note from the hospital)he also said that i overcut,(the limit is3 i missed 4)& FAILED me.

By FAR the worst professor at Kean. You get out early...okay. Three VERY LONG essays...VERY LONG! You basically have to take a one sentence problem and turn it into a 10 page paper which I found to be no easy task. I would not recommend the class.

I had Prof. Helliwell for 3 classes of Marketing, I think he is a good professor because he applies real world experience to class, for Retail Mgm and Int. Mgmt I will recomment not to buy the book you only need it for the cases, which you can make a few copies from your friend, there are not exams just two cases and a big paper

Not the friendliest guy in the world, but just do the work the way he wants it done and you shouldn't have that much of a problem. Do NOT do the bare minimum or he will not give you a good grade. People who don't like him are the ones who write average papers and think they should get an A for doing the bare minimum.

When you asked the professor a questions, he yells at you. He assumes you know everything about advertising. If he doesnot like you, then no matter how good your paper is he'll give a low grade, and find every excuse not to give you a better grade.The class is REALLY boring and you learning nothing about the class.

He lets you out 20 minutes early,sometimes more each day. The test is pick any 50 out of 100 multiple choice questions. There's 1 paper and he tells you exactly what to put in it. There is no way to fail the class. He gives you 6 absences. Now what the hell are people complaining about? If he is difficult to you, you don't deserve to be in college.

good professor. He's extremely clear & concise about what he wants from you. No homework except to read (which you don't have to do if u can take good notes) 1 paper that he keeps u updated on about due date. His handwriting is trash, pure chicken scratch and he's serious with attendence. 9:30 class, 9:31 is late and he'll get mad & mark it down.
