Comment:
I took 2120 with Keefer. Yes, the man rambles, but he is really very lovely and maybe a little brilliant. If you have the chance go to his office hours and chat with him, or if you need help (or not) go and ask him about it and he will bend over backwards to help you. He's not here this year, but if he was I'd def. take a course with him.

If you NEED (need, not want) to take a certain credit and you see Keefer's name, sign up. I was in Shakespearean Receptions and I showed up to class probably 5% of the time. Class is a must-skip, but it's a guaranteed 80+. Nice guy...but again, DRY lectures...

I love Keefer because he is eccentric and down to earth. I don't love his lack of structure in class and often feel that it is hard to know what he's looking for with assignments. He would be wonderful with some organization, however it doesn't much suit him. :)Very intelligent and kind man.

Keefer is brilliant, fun, interesting... yes, he rambles, but you end up learning a lot more that way, believe me. Find an excuse to book office hours- he's fun to talk to one on one.

Very intelligent, interesting, and eccentric man. He rambles in his lectures, but in a very captivating way... for me, atleast. His lack of clarity at times is easily rectified by sending him an e-mail or booking office hours, wherein he will comphrensively answer any of your specific questions. Great prof.

keefer's a nice man, but i dont think teaching is the right profession for him. his teaching style is dry and bland..EXTREMELY boring. be prepared to fall asleep in class often and acquire the worst possible symptoms of ADD..

Dr. Keefer is very intelligent and very interesting, but for the teaching subject (which is dry) he is not the best Prof. It is almost impossible to take notes. The only great thing about him is that he is very flexible on deadlines, and is very in tune with his students, and our stress levels.

Comment:
Dr. Keefer brings out the A.D.D. in me. He rambles about conspiracy theories, which are interesting, but not really helpful in terms of the course. He says EVERYTHING as though it is epic. ("And the apple..." *dramatic pause* was red." *SHOCK*) Nice guy. Frustrating lectures, which run long most of the time, tho. Don't have a class right after his.

hehe...i forget if that was the name of the class but it was on devil and witchcraft...very interesting topics but didn't really get a lot out of his lectures. there were many moments when the class sat in DEAD silence. extremely painful if you are in a 3 hour lecture like i was. very nice, smart man, and fair marker, but lectures are sleepers.

Great prof. I've never known a prof so open to see his students. He's a polymath for sure and loves to chat with his students. His lectures may drag a little bit but that's part of the fun of his courses. He KNOWS they drag! His assignments are fair and the subject matter is always interesting.

Overall, I know that Professor Michael Keefer was prepared for his lectures, but his lectures were less than clear. Lectures go on and on and time stands still in class.

Nice guy, but awful, terrible lectures that digressed so much no one had any idea what he was talking about. However, he provided great insights when he stayed on topic. If he learns to bring lecture notes to class and stick to them, I would definitely take another class with him.

A really nice person, but as he said in the first lecture, he's "crashingly boring"... a lot of the time he is vague. His lectures are more like rambling musings than anything else (if he ever had a topic, he lost it in two minutes or less) and he tends to speak in a quiet monotone voice.

Smart but CANNOT stay on Topic, I found his lectures to be of little if any help. BUT he was willing to take the time to talk about things with you outside of class.

His voice puts you to sleep and he talks for hours on end about who certain authours slept with or what they looked like. Found every possible way to turn literature into a completely meaningless ramblathon.

Smart, approachable, interesting, and fair. Can get distracted easily - especally on certain political issues. Overall very good, if you don't mind the occasional ramble.

Good prof, but sometimes seemed to lose the the idea that he was supposed to be teaching the students and ended up rambling on and on until the hour was over...
