Knows a lot about Calculus, but DOES NOT know how to teach. From day one not a single lesson was taught. He only assigned homework and assumed we would figure it out on our own. Tests worth 90% of your grade with the copious amounts of homework being only worth 10%. Would highly recommend not taking him if you want a good grade in Calculus

I always made an easy A in his classes starting in Calculus 2. Participation helps and being cracker jack is even better. He admits to being stingy with As. He gave one more A in every class I was in so that others could have chance for an A. He never gave an F as far as I know. He rips heavy on the engineering majors.

I thought the reviews were being overly dramatic. I was wrong. Homework isn't graded so you have no idea where you stand until you get your test back three to four weeks later. Consistently five to ten minutes late. Lectures run over and are almost always unrelated. Tests over material not taught.

Do not take this professor if you want to actually learn calculus. His lectures never get to a point and there is lots of homework and its very hard to do when the lectures don't cover anything. His lectures are basically working a few problems on the board and then that's it. Hardly any explanation.

Dr. Kielser is a horrible professor. He can't teach to save his life. I'm sure he knows a lot, but he cannot relay the information. He assigns a massive amount of homework. His test are excessively difficult. The highest grades in the class were only making like 23/70 on test. The ONLY benefit of this class is he curves alot. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Keisler is a very nice person, but he is a terrible professor. His lectures are extremely boring and he is dreadful at explaining concepts of calculus. His tests are purposely too hard and he curves every test so that the average is a 75%, with the lowest possible grade being a 60%. There are 3-4 tests (90% of grade) with FAR too much homework.

He's old school. A great guy but not a great teacher. Reviewing homework and assigning homework is all that you will be doing. You HAVE TO study and understand it on your own. He will help you out if you ask questions but the majority of them you will have to figure out on your own.

"Instructor" not clear on instructions, Very late to every class, stands in front of the problems when writing on the board, talks to the board not the class. Nobody Ever passed a test without the 60 percent curve. Homework is not graded and doesn't match the tests anyway. Don't just take my word for it though, ask around campus & you'll see quick!

If you hate math and you're not that great at it, you should take Kiesler's class. He curves everything a lot because he doesn't teach enough for students to make a C on their own.

Man, if you want a easy grade, where typing your name gets you a C, take him. If you want to UNDERSTAND what you are being taught, go elsewhere, for he does NOT teach. He shows his knowledge (can see the answer without working problem), but doesn't teach it at all. 50% curve helps, but not to understand the subject, esp cal 2. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

Very hard class because he doesnt take a lot of time to explain subject. Basically teaching yourself how to do the homework. 50-60 pt curve on all my tests though! Try to get another professor if possible!

Does not teach nor explain himself. Changes what he expects daily. His class was a waste of time in which I learned nothing. Try your hardest NOT TO TAKE HIM. Thinks every class is an "experiment" and I would rather be thought of as a student.

You basically have to teach yourself the fundametals or have taken calculus previously to get any benefit out of his class. However if you are very good at math and need a challenge, he will keep you thinking.

Never takes attendence. Would suggest for Coll Alg because of curve if not a math major. Wouldn't suggest for someone majoring in a Math field. Funny man, will entertain class, super hard test but good grades. One test if someone didn't answer a single quistion then they would get a 65. HUGE CURVE....don't drop class until you get your grade

well i didnt learn a thing, all he did was do problems on the board. he is very condescending in a "smart" way. and his tests. you technically fail cause he doesnt teach whats on them but he curves SO much that you end up getting a good grade. if you need to learn calc for your major then DO NOT take him. but if you want a decent grade, then hes ok

Dr. Keisler is an awesome professor. He is a very funny guy. I was dreading Calculus I going in and it ended up being my favorite class last semester. It's hard and tests are brutal, but there is a very generous curve. But either way, great class.
