Comment:

Professor Kort is the sweetest professors in CGS. He is extremely caring and teaches with so much enthusiasm, you would think he's actually Russian. He is the author of both textbooks used in the course so you will definitely read a lot. Be careful not to miss any readings because they all show up on the tests, which are very hard, but scaled 20p.

Very old school, boring teacher. To echo what others have said, his tests are SO hard. Hardest I've ever taken. They are curved to ensure that students don't average a 20% on them, but not curved enough. Avoid taking this class if at all possible.

He has to scale every test at least 20 points. That's how hard his tests are. He assigns readings as if he's the only class we have. Try not to take his class, its very time consuming and not rewarding.

Prof. Kort is great! Yes he's tough, but he's also an amazing professor! Extremely knowledgeable and willing to help students. If you like history, his lectures are marvelous and quite entertaining. He is very traditional, so no power-point will be used. Just read the textbook and you'll do fine!

BEST teacher in CGS. Cares so much about the subject and is so entertaining when he teaches. It's a lot of work but he makes the class interesting

Kort is ok, not all he's hyped up to be. He's sweet and willing to help with assignments, but he's very condescending in explaining concepts one on one. His exams are also ridiculously hard (curved, but not to the extent that they should be). I suggest not taking his class unless you LOVE reading about history and don't mind teaching yourself.

One of my favorite professors in CGS. He is like your funny grampa and is always willing to help. His team exams are pretty hard but he curves them generously, make sure you read the textbook or you will NOT do well.

Kort is really hilarious. He has einsteins wacky hair and a personality to match. Often when i read the txtbk id hear his weird phrases running through my head. Hes really chill but its a lot of info so keep up!

What a great professor. He instills passion in a lot of people and always has his students smiling. Its imposible not to if he's talking about Bolsheveekees and Americahnskees! Very approachable and will always answer questions no matter how stupid they may be

Kort RULES. This man is a legend and has the greatest stories. Sections are sometimes a little pointless to go to, since he often goes off in tangents and talks about music references and stories about his front yard - but this man is still great. Generous grader on papers. Go to JSA lectures and READ READ READ. Otherwise, you'll fail the exams.

Professor Kort is the man. His class is interesting but rediculously hard. You have to teach him something to get A's ( which you wont, becuase he knows EVERYTHING, seriously). The man knows his Russian and Chinese History-listen to him and you will prosper (by that I mean get a C.

Kort is amazing. He knows every student by name and really tries to get to know his students. He's a hard grader. I haven't earned above a C+ in his class. His class discussions are packed full of information. Go to class and you'll be set for the exams. Go to him for extra help. He's reallly great.
