Comment:

I would recommend taking prof. Land for film studies! I took this class as an extra elective and it is a lot of work but very easy at the same time. Every Tuesday is a quiz on the reading (5 questions, super easy) and every Thursday a quiz on the movie you need to watch outside of class. As long as you put in a bit of effort you will do well!

Professor Land is a super nice guy. He makes the class more like a conversation than a lecture. There is a lot of reading though and you have to do it or else you won't pass the every day quiz he gives. It's a short writing prompt at the beginning of every class on the reading, so it's easy, just make sure you read. Overall though it's an easy clas

This is the honors homeless class. It was not interesting in the slightest. The professor was extremely helpful and nice, but the material is dry. It is an extremely easy 1 credit course though! Almost everyone gets an A.

Professor Land is the nicest professor i have had here at assumption! I ended up taking another class with him shortly after. Great guy if you need help he is always there for you! One of my favorite people at Assumption

I also cannot understand why there are so many positive comments. Mike Land is extremely unreasonable. If you don't have ANY other commitments outside of his class, sure, you'll do fine. I am used to a heavy workload. But with my job, 5 classes and the boatload of work he gives out, I have zero time for anything else.

Very intelligent when it comes to English studies. Funny, good job at teaching and getting you into the subject and making class interesting. But his lesson plans are sloppy and you won't even know what's going on half the time (we didn't even get a syllabus until like 2-3 weeks in), so pay close attention or you'll easily miss the assignments.

Film studies: Nice prof, but honestly, one of the worst instructors/courses I have taken at Assumption. He very rarely has a real lesson plan for each class, which leads to him babbling on for extended periods of time. Must read a 450-pg book. Movies are seen OUTSIDE of class, so allot an extra 2.5 hrs of extra time for yourself per week. Grade: C-

i took him for film studies... you watch weird movies but its a good class... if you just read the text and watch the movie youll do fine. the midterm and the final are easy and fair. the reading just get tedious but its worth it if you want an easy grade. plus hes funny

He is very engaging in class. Encourages discussion. Knows his stuff and is able to teach it. One of the best at Assumption. Nice guy too, and definitely good looking. Cute southern accent. He's a dog lover too. Take his class, no matter what it is. You'll learn a lot and have fun doing it.

Great teacher. Extrememy fun class. Field trips were fun, even tho they were on the weekends. Class time off for field trips was really nice too. Very fun class; it was one of very few that I looked forward to. Great guy, very funny. Pretty easy grader. Very clear on whta he wants from you.
