English isn't my best subject, but Dr. Lee teaches it well. He gives you enough time to finish essays (there's only 4) & he makes you turn in a draft first, which he provides feedback for. Extra credit is not offered & if he decides to give some out, it will be the minimum.

Professor Lee cares. He is personable, available for office hours, email, etc. He taught me a lot about writing and made in class exciting and fun. He gathered us in groups a couple of times and used alternative ways to teach those who needed a slightly different way to learn. I would definitely take him again!

Loved taking this class! Read 5 books, essays and research paper. Makes you think and love the discussions! Miss 5 classes though and you are dropped. Would take him again in a heartbeat!

This was an easy class if you know how to manage your time. There is a lot of reading but not bad; you can even get away with not reading every night. The hw assignments are easy and the exams are pretty straightforward. But if i can give one tip is, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ON THE ESSAYS!!! like i said, time management is key

Michael is an excellent teacher. He's one of the teachers who sincerely cares about his students, and just the way he talks lets you know how kind he is. For rating the teacher, an awesome, but strict, man. No phones allowed at all. The class, however, was very difficult with Michael. Prepare to read.

His class is mostly reading so if you're not a big reader, I wouldn't recommend this class. He seems to genuinely care for the subject. The only thing we did in class was go over what we read.

I'm an English major and I honestly was just not that into this class. Mike has a super kind heart, and cracks a funny joke a few times per class, but I was honestly bored most of the time. But one thing you can be sure of: Mr. Lee isn't out to pick on anybody or make some big political statement. He just wants to teach people; a wonderful change.

I will not be taking another class from Lee because I want something easier. His grading is tough and he doesn't put up with nonsense in class. I thought the books we read were painfully boring and the lectures were long. Lee is very kind and wants his students to learn an succeed. Take advantage of office hours.

The online modules are extremely helpful. He includes videos and guidelines to every assignment. Three major essays and no longer than 5 pages. The workload was very manageable. The reading book (Outliers) and the essay topics are interesting.

I took this class as a learning community with History 146, Dr. Lee was very helpful and fun to learn from. This was a 10 credit class as it was a learning community class. There is alot of reading involved, but it is essential to learning the material for both classes. Michael is a great professor and willing to help at any time with questions.

Very helpful, goes through the reading assigned the night before. He says he will give you "pop quizzes" if the class seems to not have read but he really doesn't. Only 3 essays 3/5 pages, go to his office hours for feedback and you get a good grade. Midtern and final are graded good. Weekly homework only 1 paragraph, he's very clear and helpful!

No real complaints on this one. Readings were more important to do, and the lectures, although seemingly pointless, are a good help of what he's looking for on the midterm and final. Don't expect to get by easy. Indifferent on recommendation.

Most weeks, all we had to do was 3 discussion questions and 1 homework question (1 paragraph per question). More than 60% of our grade was essays, and they are pretty easy if you use his office hours for every essay. I did that and got a 100.3% in his class. Used Canvas, and he wasn't amazing with the tech aspect, but would correct it if asked

He wasn't a hard teacher, grade was almost fully dependent on the essays we wrote. First few were short 3-5 pages, and the last one was 5-7 but we had lots of time to do it. We also had two in class essays. Only annoying thing is attendance is mandatory but class is always just a repetition of what we read the night before. Rather boring.

Once on his bad side always on bad side. Bad side meaning getting a low grade on an assignment. Good teacher, but very heavy workload, I won't be taking a class of his again.

Definitely has favorites in the class for hw and grading. He gives barely any time for essays. 3 research papers along with 3 inquiry papers and other assignments. Also reading assignments every night. He only allows 5 absenses, but I felt like I was wasting my time in class. Didn't learn anything I didn't already know.
