This man had the audacity to give me C's on every paper I wrote. It doesn't matter what you do he'll always find something wrong with your work. He is probably angry that he is musty dusty crusty and old. 0/10 would not recommend to a friend. Take this class with Zescott or literally anyone else.

Dr. Lynch expects a lot, yes, but it is an upper-level psychology class. I think this has been one of the best classes I've ever taken, I've learned so much. Go to class and pay attention, and do exactly what he asks on the papers and tests and you'll do fine. textbook wasn't used, its just to refer to if you're confused or miss class

Tests are VERY hard, and Dr. Lynch is picky about short response answers. He is also very picky about how your papers are written. If your class has a TA, talk to them, they'll be able to help you with papers and questions. Would really recommend avoiding taking a class with Dr. Lynch if you care about your GPA.

One of the best professors Ive ever had at Geneseo. Tests were very difficult but with a lot of studying and hard work you will be fine. Clearly very passionate about the material and is easily accessible by email or office hours. Highly recommend to anyone willing to put in some effort.

The class itself is super manageable but your grade won't reflect your knowledge. I worked hard on every paper and got mediocre grades because of minor things like formatting. Tests are super nit picky and specific. It was frustrating to know the material I was taught in class yet end up with a mediocre grade.

So hypocritical. Class gave me anxiety and PTSD. Take res methods with anyone else but him. Is never clear on what he wants for you, and no matter how much you try or go to him, he doesn't help you succeed.

Dr. Lynch is a relatively nice guy. His lectures are a bit dull, and lots of time is often spent on each minor topic with his soothing voice which makes it hard to stay focused. The tests are fair, but beware that he is a very harsh grader with any form of writing. The main paper has been a major struggle, but he cares about improvement.

Dr. Lynch's class was both the hardest and best class I've taken at Geneseo. Exams are extremely difficult (based on lecture material & studies). Bring your papers to him for feedback. Ask questions for clarification. Go to his office hours. Do all extra credit. Don't take it personally when grades are mediocre--this class is tough!

Great professor although a lot of your grade depends on papers and short essay questions and he searches for very specific answers. The book is dull and the class is a bit slow paced but you take away a lot from the class. He's very approachable and offers some extra credit on tests but the extra credit questions are tricky.

Really enjoyed this class as a psych major and by the end of the semester I had learned so much about psychopathology that it changed my understanding of individuals with disorders in a positive way. He says at the beginning this class will teach you to understand others at psychological standpoint and it definitely does! Highlyrecommend this class

Lecture is pretty boring but straightforward. Papers are short, but he is a very particular and harsh grader. Only a midterm and a final for tests. Multiple choice isn't bad but takes a lot of points off on short answer. Take 321 with Kirsh if you want something interesting.

Very vague. Boring lectures. Class notes almost useless. Grades papers very harshly. Short answers on test impossible to get full credit. You could write down, as answers, exactly what he says in class and still not get full credit. Papers almost impossible to get passing grade. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR.

Very specific test questions, but if you go to class and write down everything he says and study very carefully, you can do fine. Bizarre grading of papers - wants something very specific for each one, takes off a lot of points for small mistakes. Tough, but fair if you really work hard.

Lynch is a very nice guy, and this class is pretty easy overall. He is a tougher grader on written assignments, but the multiple choice on exams are easy if you look over your notes. One of two questions will be on there from text companion website. Also gives choice of essay question on exam.

Professor Lynch seems like a nice guy but a couple things about him are bothersome. He speaks in a whisper which is quite unnerving. It is very monotone and breathy. His slides are not at all helpful and he doesn't put them online anyways. You need to attend class because he tests on very specific things. Also an unfair grader, by a lot :(

He's super tough, but he's just as equally nice. Be respectful in class, participate, and sit up front (he talks quietly). He has a real passion for the material and it shows, and he is always helpful if you have questions or anything. His tests are rough though, but it's worth it. Great class!

This class is the hardest class I have ever taken, but Lynch goes above and beyond to help you understand the material. Be very specific on tests and thorough in your papers. Go to his office hours if you need help. He's a total sweetheart and will do anything he can to help. This class will kick your ass, but it's totally worth it at the end of the semester.

Exactly what the one below me said. So excited for this class and it was a HUGE letdown. Very boring, very hard essays and tests. Studied for the final for 2 weeks and got a C. Very vague about points as well as what to expect on tests and essays. If you can't get out of his class, go to his office hrs to show you care, he likes to see that.

I do not recommend Professor Lynch. His lectures are boring, and the power point slides are useless to study from. He's able to make material with the potential to be interesting really boring. He combined the last two tests into one final exam because he is unable to correctly pace the course material. DON'T take adolescent development with him.
