Noonan is probably one of the most knowledgeable people you will meet, you get a lot out of his classes, and not just the class material. I believe he revised this class recently, so it is not as tough as it previously was. Still need to know minor details and read ALL the assignments though. But if you work hard and want to learn you will be fine.

Dr. Noonan is a very interesting person. He can be nice but he can also be kind of rude and uncaring. His exams are EXTREMELY specific and there is a lot of information to know from the textbook, and a lot of reading. Otherwise the class is very interesting.

Workload for this course is absolutely insane. Tests are 100% memorization. The readings are long and difficult, the tests are hard (just a blank book - all short answer), hours of videos, studying has to be done every day. 85% taxonomy. This course is a must have for ABECs, but don't take it with other work-heavy courses! You won't pass!

His classes are incredibly interesting. He's hilarious (most of the time) and really tries to make you think. He wants to be there for you if you need help too. Tests are hard though, beware. You MUST read and memorize A LOT and don't ever think any minuscule detail isn't important, because it is. Hardly any hw, but you have to read read read!

Great professor. Lecture is so interesting that it makes you want to come to class, although difficult material. Readings are difficult but interesting if you like biology. I would recommend this class more for psychology and biology students, especially pre-med. Tests are difficult but he gives partial credit and opportunities to gain back points

BIO316 has so much essential information that the class is a must-take. Readings are long but have a lot of useful information. Tests are difficult at first but easier once you are used to them. It's a challenging course but so rewarding and Dr. N helps you learn everything along the way.

Very intimidating, difficult classwork, a bit tricky to get a hold of sometimes but still one of the best teachers I've had at Canisius. Unlike many of the phd holding "teachers" at Canisius he is there for the students and enjoys sharing his knowledge with them. Made the class very interesting and enjoyable. Just make you read and study.

Great Guy-You'll respect him to much to hate him, but its hard not to on exams day Nothing but a blank line 50-100book pages you must memorize + when he says something even once you are suppose to memorize it and learn it right then and there All his classes are the most interesting and you'll learn and remember more from his classes than any other

Dr. Noonan is the man. His class can be tough at times, but as long as you read the assigned chapters and look over your notes a bunch, you can pull out an A easy. He is really funny in class, but calls on me all of the time for some reason...

Lecture is pretty much useless, since only about 3 questions on the test were discussed in class. If you read the chapters at least twice, you may have a chance at doing well. Tests are very specific and hard. 4 tests and a cumulative final is the only work for the class, which is not a good thing.

Dr. N is one of the best professors here, the classes are hard, but if you work at it, it will click down the road. Class is extremely funny and worthwhile. If you are not afraid of the workload, you need to take this man

I think there's a difference between a lot of work and hard work. Social Org. was not hard it was just a lot of work, but it was all really interesting. It's probably the best class I've ever taken.

This guy is hilarious...he excels at performing risible satires of teenage life to demonstrate key concepts during lecture. And he is not afraid to push into the risque. Definitely makes it worth taking the class...and its definitely not as hard as some people make it seem.

As people said, if you can hack it, he will teach you more than any other professor on campus, but I would only recommend to a zoo biology/ animal behavior minor. Heavy course load, needs to be diligent in studying. He is amazing, runs amazing trips, sure can be an ass but you get used to it and grow a bit of a shell. Totally worth your time.
