He is as helpful to his students as gasoline is to a firefighter. He barely responded to my e-mails and when he did the responses were very basic and did nothing to help me. I even had to fail a test for another class to study for his test, which I also failed.

I found Michael Oriolo to be a difficult professor to deal with. At the beginning of class, you end up feeling like he is expecting you to break the rules and he is going to fail you from the start. In addition, he was very paranoid about the rules.

This course is very difficult online. There is 4-6 online homework assignments, 4-6 written homework assignments and 2-4 minitab assignments every 2 weeks. Written assignments are subject to review at professors discretion. One 3hr test every 4 weeks. The professor talks to you like you already know the information being taught.

Michael Oriolo wasn't a terrible teacher, but he is very, very controlling. You feel like he's trying to make you fail the class. He's very happy to make you feel like a two-year-old.

Online class - JUST IN IT FOR THE MONEY - not helpful at all. Obviously wants to end up with as few students in the class as possible - doesn't care because he will still get paid. Make one small mistake (wrong date on assignment, etc.) will refuse to grade any of work submitted.

Online sumr course. Didn't communicate with prof except for a couple of emails early in semester. All homework and tests are done on MyMathLab site = instant grade. Used the MyMathLab site and didn't use prof notes. Managed a B+ with a limited amount of effort. Fair grading dropped 1 test and two quizes. No group disccusions only the actual work!

This guy is a JERK! If you go to him for help, he basically tells you your an idiot and shouldn't be taking the class. No partial credit on exams, so even if you make a ridiculous mistake like for getting a coma, the whole question is wrong. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM. He is very mean and grades SOLEY on exams. Miss/Fail 1 and you are SCREWED.

I took this class in '97 and he was a very helpful teacher. Really explained the basics and very sarcastic, but funny. I really enjoyed his class. Lots of homework and his tests were kinda hard if you didn't know how to do the formula. He does add things that weren't in the book, his so called short cuts!!

Took this class online in the Fall of 2004. Thank God I passed! Communication was insufficient and the tests were awful. Beware of the testing methodology - tests are easy to do bad on unless you are a stats person and memorize everything.
