Comment:
Dr. Strawser is a good professor. The classes focused mostly on the cases that were to be used at the ethics bowl, so definitely take this class if you are interested in debating practical ethical issues. His lectures on the different theories were very interesting and insightful, and the in-class debates were enjoyable also. I would recommend him.

Took him online for intro philosophy course. Required a lot of work, discussion board postings four days of the week and a quiz. Must log onto webcourses frequently to ensure you are up to date. Although a heavy workload, would take him again. Definitely an interesting class with a Professor who invests his time in his students and the coursework.

I took this class online for my summer semester and he was great! He was really organized with the course and was very helpful with any questions. There is a lot of reading, but it's fairly easy and he's pretty lenient with grading. Definitely enjoyed taking this class.

Although attendance is not required, there are timed writings that you could miss. The tests are fair and the grading is very even. With little effort you can easily get an A while still learning and thinking quite a lot. The professor is extremely helpful and answers emails promptly. Great guy, great class, I'd definitely recommend it!

He grades harshly and counts attendance, but he is such a nice guy it's hard to hold it against him. He's always available to help after class and responds to emails almost immediately. He assigns a lot of reading though. I had him for intro to phil and senior research

This was an ok class, but the test were difficult due to the workding of some of the questions. If you pay attentiong and attend you should do ok; does take effort to get an A.

I thought phil would be interesting, but this prof made it extrememly boring.theresa good amount of reading. its not diffficult to pull a B but an A is difficult. his tests consist of true/false n multiple chocie but this form makes it difficult because the wording of ques are always tricky.

I thought General Philosophy would be relatively interesting and fair. Instead I was posed with an intense, rigorous, high level of philosophical reasoning that I was not prepared for nor taught to do. The professor was accommodating enough, however multiple choice & T/F trick questions made the class nearly impossible to excel or learn in.

I loved this class. Dr. Strawser is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I got a 97% in the class. Go to class, read the passages, take notes and you will get an A. The tests are not difficult. You can tell he loves teaching and philosophy. If i could take him for any other class I would!!

This professor opened my eyes. He is brilliant, motivated, and ridiculously well-read. His office door is always open, and for the icing on this philosophy cake, he is the sexiest professor I've ever had. ;)

Strawser is the best professor I have ever had. If you complete all of the reading assignments, which are not longer than would be expected for a philosophy class, it is not difficult at all to get an A.He has an incredibly thorough understanding of the material, and he sincerely cares about helping students learn. Very, very highly recommended :)

Great professor, okay class. Six books, all small and cheap. Easy readings, and he helps quite a bit by explaining what he wants us to know. Three tests, and they're tough. If you've been to class and done the reading and studied, you'll be fine. I'd take another class with him. He learned our names in two weeks.

study hard for his tests and you might get an a, i never got one. his mra's and time writings will save your grade if you follow guidelines strictly. he's very intelligent and most of the readings were interesting. sometimes doesn't explain enough and we fall behind because of discussions. take detailed notes.

I was very disappointed. a nice enough guy but went way too slow to cover all material for tests. Do not take his class if you want a broad overview of phil.-we covered only his 5 favorites and the readings weren't boring and too long. Work isn't too hard but have a ten page research paper as final on topic of choice.

Lots of reading out of (almost) entire philosophical texts, not matter what class. Still, it's rewarding if you read.
