He has good background in the lodging industry, but when it comes to teaching an ELECTIVE (emphasis on that is highly necessary) he needs help. He only gives you 5 assignments (2 exams, attend/participation, 1 group project) so there's no room for mistakes or you will fail. I worked in hotels for 2 years and never stressed out so much. Be warned!!!

The textbook is at the library. His notes get long and he clicks through them fast sometimes, so try to have them with you before class. Pay attention, be involved, & ask for help and you'll do well. No technology is allowed; if he catches you on FB or amazon, he'll call you out in class. Be on time, and don't use the bathroom during class time.

Doc Terry is amazing. He knows so much and so many people. We had a lot of guest speakers and even got to have class at the marriott and other hotels. Basically the entire grade for the class was one big group project where we had to "consult" and research for the marriott. Attendance is mandatory! Easy A if you do the work

He makes lectures relevant, lots of guest speakers, huge group project. Pay attention and take GOOD notes and tests will be easy. He literally will say "that would be a good test question." Some people didn't pay attention and failed the tests. Start on group project early and get his feedback throughout semester and you will pass with a good.

The worst professor at UCF Rosen! He is rude and, if you go to the restroom during class your participation grade will drop. His tests which there are only two are 100% essay response. If you don't have the books you will fail. He doesn't review for test nor does he tell you what will be on the test, overall he not helpful professor.

He is a great guy that means well, don't get me wrong. But do not take his class unless you absolutely have to. I missed one class and for participation I got a 14.5/20, he only gives two exams and a project which are worth random points (8, 16, 21) and gives no insight on what the test will be on. They are all short answer. Steer clear if you can!

Doc is Great, its immediately apparent he's very well versed in the industry and he's dedicated to teaching actionable post-graduate information. He is very available and helpful and while the tests are difficult, he is very generous grading the project submissions. He sincerely wants to see you succeed.

Doc is a great professor, knows about branding as he is/was a consultant for many businesses. Very funny guy, loves class participation and will bring real life into the classroom to enhance learning.

Teacher is knowledgeable about the subject, but he can be very condescending towards his students as mentioned in a prior review. He has been the toughest teacher that I have had in my time at UCF and I have learned a lot in the class but he gives little to no mercy if you do not study or participate in class. Make sure to read all articles.

I didn't understand what point he was trying to make with the lectures; he really mumbles, and makes strange comments - they really threw me. He was very inconsistent, and made promises that he went back on to the class. You'll probably be miserable in this class.

Least helpful professor! The class was okay, but he's just unbelievably condescending towards students. Make sure you're lucky enough to find a good group for the project. An A or B is doable, but you'll suffer through the class. :-( Also he made last minute changes to the schedule that really threw off my group and I towards the end.

Took his class because of some positive comments, big mistake! All the negative comments are spot on. His class is stressful and he wastes your time. He'll say last minute stuff like, "The next test is all about concepts." Then it will be on the smallest details you can pick out of the book. The 2 tests are worth everything, so do well. Good luck.

Textbook is needed in order to take the exams but not to understand the class. The class itself is easy, mostly consists of hearing personal stories and using a simulator once a week called ProSim (takes MAYBE half an hour every week). Prof. has lots and lots of experience so he knows what he's talking about. Beware of the final group project.

Very difficult class, much more than necessary. If you even look like you might be sleeping he makes you leave. He reads off power points and gives pop quizzes on material he hadn't yet covered. Attendance is a must and studying even more mandatory considering the final exam is 35% of your grade and you must get 74% total to get better than a D-

Restaurant MAP with "Doc" was an interesting and challenging course. If he says something is required for the course, make time to read and understand it - you will be tested on it. Exams for this course were not easy and the group project was extensive. Overall, participate, read the texts and do well on the group project and you will do well.

Is the class difficult, YES! Is it worth it, YES!If you are serious about owning a business, you must take Brand Management, and Doc is very loose with the class, he continuously asks the students questions. His tests are difficult, gotta know pretty much everything you are expected to read. I am enrolled for my 3rd class with him for next semester

One of the worst classes I've ever taken. He is ridiculously unorganized and never responds to any emails. He also uses the most pointless information on his exams and likes to give you 15 min to take it cause he talked all hour. I could deal with him if he wasn't so rude. He talks down to his students and treats us like we are children. Awful.

Doc Terry's exams are fill in the blank. He hands out articles to talk about before class and expects you to know about it at the beginning of class. Those that didn't were threatened of a zero on their participation grade. If you are unfortunate to get him, good luck.

DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE IN CLASS. DON'T EVEN LOOK AT IT. He's extremely sarcastic and yeah his classes can be boring. HEADS UP he makes everyone give $40 for a really useless HOTELSIM program. All in all..i liked the guy. His tests weren't easy, but he GIVES you every term that's on the test. ALSO, study the class Enigmas.
