Cool teacher. Knows a lot about wines. Stayed on course and drank various wines. Excuse me, tasted wines lol. He is helpful if you go to him with questions. If you feel that a question is wrong in the book. You can email him and he will give you credit. I turned a 75 into a 95. Skim book for test online save time because chapters are too long.

He is an amazing guy but an amazing teacher-hard to say. He is extremely disorganized and don't even think of printing out all his slides...he would stay on the first slide and babble on and on about nothing useful. Very little homework but the tests can have a few tricky questions he never went over. Much better choice then Judy with workload

I cant explain how disorganized this man is! Im currently taking him now and we are backed up past a month on group project presentations (that means if you still havent gone you have to dress up every class session in hopes of presenting). His class is so boring and nothing from the lecture is on the test. The guy just loves to talk about himself!

I definitely recommend Ashley! He's funny and a generally nice guy. You're required to get the lab manual but no textbook otherwise. He IS really disorganized, but contact him if you have any problems and he's more than willing to help. As long as he can see that you're honestly trying in the lab and coming to class he'll like you.

VERY disorganized. Most info on WebCT was wrong for the first half of the semester and you had to ask to find out what the actual due dates were. Very nice guy though and always willing to help, respond to emails, etc. Grades on the easy side as long as he knows you participate and you try hard. Really a fun class and I learned quite a bit.

He doesn't do a good job with controlling the groups. If you try to get them to work on the project too much, they can hand him a note and get your grade lowered. He also only gives you 18 hours to do your quizzes online and doesn't always post them on time.

Professor Ashley is flippin awesome!! Reading the book is recommended as some of the info on the quizzes is not covered in lectures. One individual paper, 4 quizzes, one group project, a final tasting, and random participation grades make up your final grade...very good class. FYI - if you plan on taking this class just to "get ****," FORGET IT!

love him!! took him for 3 courses. corny corny corny jokes, but i loved them. like every other class at rosen, there's a group project - and he chooses groups for you out of a hat, so that's pretty lame... but overall my fav prof @ rosen!!

He's a funny guy, if you like sarcastic humor. He teaches more from experiences than from the book, although you will occassionally need it. I took him for QFP and Bev. mgmt. He's more than willing to help, as long as you ask for it. No hats(I was busted quite a bit), Lap-tops are usually fine until he sees people on Facebook killing class time.

This professor is amazing! He is entertaining and makes great use of class time. His tests are fair, just make sure you study. Attendance is not mandatory, but he does do random quizzes every now and then. I strongly suggest taking him.

I really enjoyed his class. He's really nice, a bit corny, but in a funny way that makes you like going to class. He doesnt just talk at you during lecture, he knows a lot about the industry, and tells stories. The tests are a little tough, but I highly recomend taking him for a class. I would take him again.

He's great, REALLY nice guy. Says good morning to everyone he sees, very friendly in the classroom and knows an inSANE amount of information about cooking and a kitchen. He can be kind of a hard ass about some things (no hats in class, no lap tops to take notes) but it's not that big a deal, he's corny and sarcastic so it makes up for it.

this class was by far the most FUN to take, u also learn alot too. He uses great examples and is a great lecturer. Though, he is very unclear on tests, because whatever he says will be on it, is never! do good on the group project!

Don't buy the green case book. Class is okay- he keeps you the whole time and will be partly entertaining. Renee the lab tech was AMAZING! Put effort into the group project. Just study hard and you will do okay.

He's okay. Not very clear on anything. No calendar in syllabus at all. Don't use small green book. Lab is a lot of fun--Renee is awesome!! Project is okay. Tests are hard because what he tells you to study for is never on the test and what you didn't always is. Pretty sure he uses a grade curve.
