Never been taught by a guy so happy and up beat. Made geography my best class all year just simply due to his teaching style. He cracks jokes throughtout his lecture and touchs on interesting topics that suck you in and make listening effortless.

Went into Geog 100 prepared to bored out of my mind. Tripp proved me wrong, looks at all aspects of geography, Historical, Political, Geological, etc. makes it interesting for everyone. Hes not too good with technology likes to chalk and talk, but if you miss notes his test study sheets are very helpful.

Great professor. Gives you a study sheet for each exam which makes studying a breeze. Only assigns short one page papers. Tests are quite easy if you know your stuff.

Tripp is awesome, I always look forward to his class. I'm considering switching my major to geography because I never knew how amazing it could be. He just needs to get the assignments back on time, because we hand them in on time! I guess that's college for ya...

Fantastic teacher! Takes a while to get assignments back, but he is very chill and consistently reduced our 1 and a half hour class down to an hour! Recommended!

The Trippster was unreal, I had em back in '06 and he's been my best geography teacher to date, there was just something inspirational about the guy. I'm in my final year at Uvic so I think that says alot about the guy.

He is a smart, well educated man. He gives breaks to students when they need them, and is a great marker. He does not go out of his way to intimidate people like many profs do. Very nice, helpful prof.

Micheal was funny but very random. And he was very picky about grading. Many times there were no substantial notes and the class was somewhat boring. However, he did always give a great outline before exams which was good. I wouldn't take another class of his though.

He keeps the class interesting - he does get side tracked a lot!. He has his own vocabulary which can be confusing at times. He is a great guy and generally loves students. He treats students with respect and wants them to be interested in what they are learning. He gives lots of examples of the concepts. He has a one of a kind of teaching style.

I took a team taught course with Tripp and Raynor... it seemed like Tripp hadn't ever taught in his life, much less given any thought to the subject of Globalization. His lectures were random and had nothing to do with the course material...It was the most painful experience of my life.

Maybe it's just the class, but things are really easy. There is a woman who sits behind me and mutters through the whole class. That's cool that he had a bad trip I didn't know that till now. Sometimes he doesn't seem to know what he's on about but again it might just be the class.
