Linux commands require a lot of memorization and through understanding. Skip class, you'll miss out on chances to ask how they're applied. He doesn't talk much in class, but will answer any questions you have. It's a hands on, learn from trial and error style learning situation. On a side note: you will lose marks for syntax on tests

Great professor, he'll answer almost all of your questions very thoroughly. He'll give useful handouts every week. Everything that he posts on the practice quizzes is exactly what you should expect on the quizzes that are worth marks. However, it is hard to find him outside of class.

Well, here's the thing. You will either like him from the start, or hate him first but like him later..so you'll ultimately end up liking him. He has high expectations, but gives you partial marks even if you get things wrong. If you're interested in Linux take his introductory class..it'll be the beginning of your wonderful obsession with Linux.
