We spent the semester reading 1 book (15 stories). Wrote 3 mini papers (30%), had a rough draft (25), a final revision (25), and just attendance & participation (20). Overall, he's super easy to get a grade on, but you need to write what he wants you to write or you get a lower grade.

Easy A, probably one of the easiest English classes. He gives his notes on the lectures for each class. Class grade is predominantly made up of the midterm and final. The midterm and final is a written essay which is primarily made up of what he taught in his lecture notes.

one of the worst professors I've ever taken a class with. I have always been good in english classes (never gotten below an A-) and in this class he gave me a C. His thoughts are the only thoughts that count in the class so if you disagree you're not going to pass. Don't take if you want a good grade

Probably worst prof. I've had at LeMoyne... gives you 0 chance to have your own thoughts about the material and grades based on only a midterm and final, which are nearly impossible to do well on unless you are able to regurgitate absolutely everything he teaches you in lecture.

Dr. Davis is very knowledgable about what he teaches, I think students occasionally mistake his expertise for condescension. However, he really just wants to push students to discover unique and original observations from the assigned literature. He's incredibly interested in what he teaches, and his class made me interested in the subject as well.

He goes on and on in lectures as if he is engaging in a conversation with himself as he constantly ignores the class, closes his eyes, and stutters to find his next word. Although attendance is mandatory, there is nothing to be learned by attending as nothing useful is presented and most certainly not in a clear way.

He isn't a bad teacher. In my opinion he is one of the easiest in the English department. He makes you write two response papers and you have a midterm and a final.

Davis has annoying quirks, but he's highly intelligent. His handwriting is a little rough on the eyes, but if you listen to what he's telling you, it will make you an amazing writer. He's very precise, but it's because he wants it done correctly. He's only a hard grader if you make him one. Don't complain, listen to what he has to say, and EFFORT!

Davis is definately interested in what he teaches. You can tell that he takes the material seriously. He usually ties his books back to sex, which can actually be very interesting. He does not just hand out A's, so you have to work for them. His class is mainly discussion and a required group-lead discussion and a mid term and a final. Nice guy!

Incomprehensible handwriting. Can't control the class. Submitted three different versions of a paper before he actually read it. Cares more about speed than comprehensibility. Favors formula over convincing arguments. Quite possibly the biggest nitpick i have ever run across. I will avoid him in future, and would recommend you do the same.

Davis is a great guy! He has always been VERY helpful and nice. He goes out of his way to see students if they are having trouble, and his classes are very rewarding. If you put the work in you will learn a lot. Talks about sex but one it is Woolf and two Modern literature has sex all over the place so give the guy a break. DEFINITELY TAKE HIM

He's great. The first few weeks are very odd, he's off-beat and says "UM" all the time, but he's really a great teacher, and answers any questions, and is VERY understanding I was sick and missed a test and he let me make it up. By the end you will love him. He relates everything to sex but he's a great teacher.
